The Telangana government has announced a massive ₹23,108 crore allocation for the education sector, aiming to enhance government institutions, improve higher education, and boost skill development initiatives.

Major Highlights of Telangana’s Education Budget

  • Increased University Funding: Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University (Nalgonda), Satavahana University (Karimnagar), and Palamuru University (Mahbubnagar) will receive an additional ₹77 crore, raising their total allocation to ₹865.37 crore.
  • Better Facilities in Residential Schools & Hostels: Over 7.66 lakh students in gurukuls, welfare hostels, and Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Schools will benefit from:
  • 40% hike in diet charges
  • 200% increase in cosmetic allowances
  • Advanced Skill Development in ITIs:
  • 65 Government Industrial Training Centres will be transformed into Advanced Technology Centres.
  • These centres will train 1 lakh students annually in cutting-edge skills.

  • Higher Education: ₹3,643 crore
  • Secondary Education: ₹19,464 crore
  • School Education: ₹518 crore
  • Technical Education: ₹582.11 crore
  • Collegiate Education: ₹662.68 crore
  • Young India Integrated Residential Schools: ₹11,600 crore for 58 new institutions
  • Chakali Ailamma University: ₹550 crore for infrastructure expansion

This strategic investment aims to empower students, modernize education infrastructure, and equip youth with essential skills, reinforcing Telangana’s commitment to a stronger and more inclusive education system.
