The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced 500 online Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) under its ATAL Academy for the academic year 2025-26. These programs aim to upskill faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students across India in high-demand and emerging technology areas.
The announcement was made during an official event held at AICTE headquarters in New Delhi, led by Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam. Also present were Vice Chairman Dr. Abhay Jere and Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar. The Council had earlier launched an equal number of offline FDPs for the same year.
Prof. Sitharam emphasised the importance of continuous learning and domain expertise for educators to stay aligned with industry trends. He also highlighted that these programs play a key role in bridging the gap between academia and real-world applications. Dr. Jere proposed archiving standout lectures online to maximize reach and long-term value.
Each FDP will be a six-day virtual course, focused on sectors such as Quantum Technologies, Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, Blue Economy, Smart Cities, and more. A total of 17 emerging fields will be covered.
