JMI Launches Third Edition Of AI & ML Training Programme

JMI

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) recently announced the beginning of the third edition of its Short-Term Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The programme is scheduled from July 1 to July 19, 2025. Organised by the Department of Computer Engineering, the 50-hour course will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining 20 hours of theoretical instruction with 30 hours of hands-on practical sessions.

This initiative aims to deliver practical, hands-on training while grounding participants in theoretical foundations. The university’s decision underscores its commitment to preparing students and professionals for roles in the AI-driven digital economy.

The curriculum encompasses five comprehensive modules, those being ‘Introduction to AI & Python Programming Basics’, ‘Applied Data Science with Python’, ‘Machine Learning Algorithms’, ‘Deep Learning for Computer Vision using Keras & TensorFlow’, and ‘Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing Keras & TensorFlow’.

The modules aim to provide participants with the necessary foundation in both knowledge and skills to make use of AI and ML applications to their full potential.

The university’s official website is currently hosting the application process for the programme. While a background in mathematics or computer science is preferred, the course welcomes applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who demonstrate a keen interest in AI and machine learning.

160 total seats are available. 60 of those seats are for offline participants and 100 of them for online attendees. Only those who apply quickly are going to be admitted to the programme, as admissions are based on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms must be submitted by May 24, 2025, through the official university website.

The application review process will be conducted on May 26, with email notifications going out on May 28 to all participants who submitted applications early. June 5, 2025 is the last day for fee payment.

The sessions will be led by a mix of academic experts and industry practitioners. Faculty members from IITs, IIITs, and leading international universities are scheduled to contribute, alongside data scientists and AI engineers from industry.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate from Jamia Millia Islamia, enhancing their credentials in the field of AI and ML.
