
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has launched India’s first-ever two-year Blended MBA Programme in Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence. The programme was officially announced at the IIMA campus in the presence of Prof. Bharat Bhasker (Director, IIMA), Prof. Diptesh Ghosh (Dean, Programmes), and Prof. Anindya Chakrabarti (Chairperson, Blended MBA: Business Analytics & AI).
Designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs, this innovative degree programme bridges business leadership with analytical and AI-driven decision-making capabilities. It aims to equip learners to navigate the fast-evolving data economy and drive intelligent, tech-enabled transformation within their organisations.

According to Prof. Anindya Chakrabarti, “The programme blends IIMA’s hallmark general management curriculum with advanced analytics and AI training. Participants will learn to interpret business challenges through a data-first lens and implement AI-led solutions that create tangible impact.”
Programme Highlights
- Format: Blended delivery with live online sessions and three on-campus immersion modules at IIMA.
- Duration: Two years (six terms).
- Curriculum: Integrates management fundamentals, analytics, and AI through case discussions, action-learning projects, and capstone assignments.
- Electives: Over 20 courses, including Predictive Analytics, Finance & Risk Management, Human–AI Collaboration, Generative AI, AI Ethics & Policy, and Supply Chain Digitisation.
- Resources: Learners gain remote access to IIMA’s Vikram Sarabhai Library, computing facilities, and analytics databases.
- Exit Option: Participants can exit after the first year with a Post Graduate Diploma.

Eligibility & Admission
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification (CA/CS/ICWA/CMA) with at least 50% marks. Professionals should have a minimum of 2–3 years of work experience, depending on their graduation pathway. Admission will be based on valid CAT, GMAT, or GRE scores (from January 1, 2021, onwards) or through the IIMA Admission Test (BPGP: BA & AI) scheduled on December 14, 2025.
Context & Industry Outlook
The programme arrives at a pivotal time for India’s data and AI ecosystem. The country’s data analytics market is projected to touch USD 21.3 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 35.8% (2025–2030). As per the 2024 BCG–NASSCOM Report, India leads globally in AI skill penetration, with demand for AI-ready professionals expected to exceed one million by 2026.
