OneWorld South Asia invites all key actors working in the field of education and with ICTs in India, and representing the public sector, the private sector, civil society, and communities for a half-day consultation to explore the different tools and methodologies to enhance the access to schools with quality education. < ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The consultation also intends to explore the synergies between the application of ICTs and the formal education system in a systematic manner and to examine the impact of such technologies relative to other tools and resources that are currently available. The meeting is intended to serve as a consultative platform for the select group to identify substantive issues that predominate in the context of education. Then, drawing upon the expertise and experience of the participants (in terms of their ongoing programmes), a set of strategic recommendations could be arrived at, towards the mainstreaming of ICTs for UEE. It would also be useful to establish synergies between the recommendations and the existing policy framework. These recommendations can be forwarded to the relevant persons so that they can be considered for inclusion in the policy-making processes.
