CBSE CTET 2018: Online registration to start from today

The Central Board of Secondary Education will start the registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018 from today i.e. August 1.

CTET will be conducted by the board in 22 languages in 92 cities across the country. Candidates aspiring for the exam can download the Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates from the official website of CTET: http://www.ctet.nic.in.

The last date for submitting online application is August 27 and the examination fee can be paid till August 30, before 3.30 pm.

The commencement of registration for CTET 2018 was earlier scheduled from June 22 but was postponed due to administrative reasons. The examination is conducted for the appointment of teachers for Class 1 to 8.

Candidates have to score 60 per cent or above in the CTET exam to be considered as TET pass. Those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently abled category will be provided relaxation up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks in the minimum educational qualification. The CTET qualifying certificate remains valid for seven years from the date of result declaration.

“The CTET examination will be conducted in all Indian languages as was being conducted earlier. I have already directed the CBSE to conduct the examination in all the 20 languages,” Javadekar said in a tweet.
