JEE Main Exams 2019 results announced: 24 candidates scored 100 percentile

The result for JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) exam, conducted in April 2019, has been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today. Students who have appeared in the examination can check the results on JEE Main’s official website: jeemain.nic.in.

As per the official data, 10.25 lakh students had appeared for the examination. The total marks of the students will be calculated on the basis of their performance ranging from 0 to 100 for each session of the examination.

As many as 24 candidates have secured the perfect score of 100 percentile. Out of this, 15 students are from the January session whereas 09 candidates have scored 100 percentile score in the April examination. NTA has released the list of state-wise toppers; however, the All India rank list is yet to be published by the agency.

JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board. However, it is subjected to the condition that the candidate should have scored at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Notably, NTA had conducted the second edition of JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams in first and second week of April. The first edition took place in January and the results too were announced in the same month. Nearly, 10.13 lakh candidates sat for the exam in January.

Interestingly, 72 per cent of the candidates were common candidates in both the exams. It means that more than 7 lakh candidates appeared in both JEE Main exams (January and April) conducted this year.
