CBSE Class 10,12 admit card to be released on this date

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which will be conducting Class 10,12 Board exams from February 15 onwards, is expected to release the admit card soon.

CBSE will be conducting Class 12 Board exams from February 15 to March 30, and Class 10 Board exams from February 15 to March 20.

Many of the schools have reported that they have received the final list of candidates along with their respective roll numbers for the examination that have been issued by the board.

CBSE will soon release the admit card for the Class 10, 12 Board exams 2020, as per the reports.

The board has already asked the school to provide the attendance details of the students and to ensure they have a minimum of 75 percent of attendance. In case, the student fails to fulfill the required attendance the Board has asked schools to validate the reason for his/her absence.

“Adequate efforts have been taken to ensure that students get sufficient time between examinations of main subjects and dates of competitive examinations do not clash with Board exams,” CBSE said in a statement.

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) has announced that the application process for admission in five-year integrated MSc programs offered at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, University of Mumbai- (UM-DAE CEBS) Mumbai has commenced.

The interested candidates can fill the registration form on or before April 3, 2020.

The NEST 2020 will be conducted online on June 6, 2020.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 result has been released by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode on the IIM CAT official website https://iimcat.ac.in/.

The candidates who have scored greater than 90 percentile in CAT 2019 are eligible to apply in the top IIMs. On the other hand, candidates who have scored less than 90 percentile can apply in other management institutes, including two IIMs.

NDA 2020: Application process to start today, check how to apply

NDA 2020 application form is anticipated to be released today, on January 8, 2020, by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Through this exam, candidates can mark their place into National Defense Academy.

NDA 2020: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must be appearing in 10+2 or must have passed 12 from a recognised board or university to appear for NDA 2020. Also, those born not earlier than July 2, 2001, and not later than July 1, 2004, are eligible.

NDA 2020: Examination Details

Candidates must qualify the written test first with minimum qualifying marks and then appear for the SSB interview round. Lupa Systems invests in Harappa Education, marks its first-ever investment in India

In recent funding, James Murdoch-led Lupa Systems made its first investment in India in eLearning institute Harappa Education. The latter will use the investment to accelerate product development, focus more on high-quality curriculum and scale its presence across corporates and campuses throughout India.

The investment gives Lupa Systems a majority stake and secures Harappa’s growth plans for the next three years.

Pramath Raj Sinha, founder and chairman, Harappa Education, stated, “I am looking forward to a strong partnership with James and his team. We have been struck by their belief in and enthusiasm for our mission. Their validation is a tremendous source of strength for us and fuels our passion to drive transformational learning outcomes at scale.”

Similarly, when asked about its first investment in India, Founder, Lupa Systems, James Murdoch said, “The potential in India is as enormous as ever, and it continues to energize me. I am excited to help realize the inspiring vision Harappa has to become a preeminent online learning institution with a curriculum that is both foundational and unique. Pramath’s passion and track record of establishing pioneering higher education institutions set us up well to build a unique enterprise.”

However, the company has refused to disclose any transaction details yet.

Founded in 2019 by James Murdoch, son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Lupa Systems, is a private investment medium with its current presence in New York and Mumbai. Since its launch, Lupa Systems has invested in Tribeca Enterprises and The Void, among others.

NEET 2020: Students in J&K receive internet facility for filling forms

Internet facility was provided to students for filling the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 forms in Awantipora town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The NEET 2020 examination will be conducted on May 3, 2020.

In the wake of internet facilities were restored on January 2 in health institutions across Jammu and Kashmir. SMS services were also restored in the Kashmir Valley from midnight on December 31. Earlier on October 14, post-paid mobile services were also restored.

In the wake of the strict security in the Kashmir region, which was followed right after the Centre’s decision to revoke Article 370 that granted special status to the erstwhile state, all mobile networks and landline connections were suspended across Jammu and Kashmir on August 5.

NEET is an entrance examination for students who wish to undertake undergraduate medical courses and dental courses in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges across the country.

JNU extends semester registration process till January 12

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has extended the date for the semester registration process till Sunday as the systems were not operational and the servers have not been restored yet.

Since the afternoon of Saturday, the registration process for the semester 2020 has stopped on the JNU campus.

In a statement, Registrar Pramod Kumar said, “A few miscreants had severely damaged the information and communication service (CIS) systems of the university as part of their continuing agitation”.

“This has caused a complete failure of the main power supply of CIS Data Centre, severe damage to Optic fibers cables, and power cables of all racks. The JNU cloud and other information and communication systems are completely shut down”, Kumar added.

All efforts have been made to repair the system and restore the damaged equipment and data by the administration, he said.

Speaking about the extension in the registration process, Kumar said, “This is to inform all the students that registration process will remain open until January 12 without any late fee for registration.”

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is leaving no stone unturned to facilitate the registration of every student.

Uttarakhand Board Exam 2020: Class 12 exam to begin from March 2, class 10 exam to begin from March 3

The Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has released the schedule of board exams in the state. The examination for class 12 and Class 10 will begin on March 2 & 3 respectively. Both the examinations will end on March 25, 2020.

In a meeting chaired by board secretary Dr Nita Tiwari at the Board Auditorium, the decision was taken. Addressing media after the meeting, she said that 1,50,289 and 1,21,126 students have registered for high school and intermediate board exams respectively.

The first exam conducted for class 12 & 10 will be of Hindi. The exams will be conducted at 1,324 exam centres across the state. Out of these, 225 have been categorised as ‘sensitive,’ while 27 have been categorised as ‘hyper-sensitive.’

Practical exams for both the examinations will be held between February 2-25, 2020 at high schools and inter colleges of the state.

Additionally, exams will be held in a single shift between 10 AM-1 PM. The final exam for class 10 will be language (Punjabi, Bengali, Sanskrit), while that of class 12 will be of Geography.

Delhi-based edtech firm Aakash Educational to acquire Meritnation for Rs 50 cr

Aakash Educational, a Delhi-based ed-tech company is all set to acquire a 66% stake in ed-tech platform Meritnation. Currently, it is held by Info Edge (India) Ltd.

This is the first acquisition deal for Aakash after it has lifted up investments from private equity firm Blackstone in October 2019.

Aakash Chaudhry, CEO, Aakash Educational said that “The acquisition will help the company to accelerate progress in the digital side of the business. Additionally, Chaudhry believes that Meritnation will help Aakash in strengthening offline offerings of Aakash across the classroom centres.

“We are continuing to evaluate several acquisition opportunities in the ed-tech space as part of our digital growth strategy, so that we can make our well-crafted student performance journey more productive,” he added.

Noida-based InfoEdge has invested around Rs 150 cr in Meritnation and has been an investor in Meritnation since 2008 and had invested last in 2017.

In India’s ed-tech space, Meritnation competes with the likes of Byju’s, ExtraMarks, EduIsFun, among others. Recently, Eduisfun had raised $28 Mn (INR 200 Cr) from angel investors such as HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh, actor Amitabh Bachchan, Ogilvy Group chief creative officer Piyush Pandey and PwC partner – assurance Russel Parera.

In 2007, Merination was founded by Pavan Chauhan and Ritesh Hemrajani, an alumnus from IIM Bangalore. This online platform offers online video courses for K-12 students across various educational boards like CBSE, ICSE and State Boards such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

Telangana govt to impart moral education in institutes: K Chandrasekhar Rao

With an aim to promote value education in the society, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that his government would appoint a committee with former DGPs and spiritual gurus to ensure that educational institutions are imparting moral education.

Rao has expressed the government’s commitment for providing value based education in schools from the upcoming academic year.

“Unfortunately, criminality is on increase in the present-day society. In some incidents, humans behave like wild animals. There is an urgent need to stop the spread of criminality,” he said.

“We will start teaching proper lessons, which will pave way for a better society, and this will start from the coming academic year,” said the CM according to an official press release.

Rao said there was nothing wrong in taking tough action for the purpose of protecting good in society. As per him, the police is in the state are discharging social responsibilities without confining themselves to maintenance of law and order.

Talking about changing the society, Rao wants to change the condition of the Dalits who are still found to be among the poor in various parts of the country,

Commenting on the same, he said, “The Telangana government is supporting the efforts of the secretary to Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society R S Praveen Kumar in educating and uplifting the Dalits.”
