Ranking the Finest of India’s Top Private & to be deemed Universities
In modern times, just being a high school graduate doesn’t open up the doors to many rewarding careers. Quality and relevant educational and holistic developmental experience certainly does. But such an experience can be cherished in higher studies. Thus, it isn’t an exaggeration to state that the quickest route to a rewarding career for many people goes through universities or centres of higher education.

The 3rd edition of private and to be deemed universities’ ranking, universities from different zones are of India on the basis of parameters including Entrepreneurship, Faculty, Industry Interface, Placement, Infrastructure, Global Collaboration and Swachh Campus. In the perception based ranking, grades are being awarded to every university after considering their overall score under the aforementioned parameters. The mammoth exercise was spread over two months.
Faculty
A good faculty can make or mar the reputation of any educational edifice. Their capabilities educational as well as aptitudinal can prove detrimental for any college or university. The impact that a faculty member can have on the student experience can be seen in and out of the classroom. The Digital Learning magazine considered “Faculty” as one of the parameters for its Top Private and to be Deemed Universities in India ranking because for developing a premier educational institution it is vital to develop a strong faculty. It not only assists in the cognitive development of the students but also restricts the rising rate of brain drain from the country to the West.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurial development today has become very significant; in view of it being a key to economic development. Entrepreneurs are frequently thought of as national assets to be cultivated, motivated and remunerated to the greatest possible extent. Entrepreneurs can change the way we live and work. Hence, the university’s infrastructure that includes everything, from lecture rooms to cafeteria and from laboratories to hostel is vital for students. In “Top Private and to be Deemed Universities Ranking 2018”, digitalLEARNING magazine has considered infrastructure as one of the important parameters for allocating the grades to educational institutes. While talking of the university infrastructure, we have kept in mind the following parameters: sports facilities, student accommodation, IT infrastructure, library facilities, research facilities and medical facilities.
Global Collaboration:
As we prepare our youngsters to be a productive contributor of national economy, we must remember it is global, competitive, and interconnected. For students to feel comfortable in such an environment, they need opportunities to participate in more collaborative learning experiences internationally. University education should lead to direct employability and we, at Digital Learning magazine, have used “Placements” as one of the key parameters while ranking them. From the student perspective, high quality placements can bring a range of benefits and positive impacts. There is a strong evidence to suggest that placements and work experience are extremely valuable to students, both in terms of their academic performance and their employability skills. Placements give students the opportunity to gain skills specific to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real-life work. It is an opportunity to be involved in teambased working, which provides a welcome contrast to the typically more individual-centric approach taken to academic study.
Swachh Campus:
In line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have also included the Swachh Campus as a parameter for Top Private and to be Deemed Universities Ranking 2018. Swachh Campus parameter includes the factors like student/toilet ratio, availability of running water, water supply systems, garbage disposal, garbage disposal techniques and campus’ green cover.
