Now all Indian institutes having Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs) or Receive Only Terminals (ROTs) can receive EDUSAT educational programmes.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) will make the education based curriculum and it would be provided through the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC). The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has already set up the infrastructure for this programme. All states and Union territories had already committed to sign memorandums of understanding (MoU) with ISRO and the Human Resource Development ministry in next two months. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will also sponsor telecasting of programmes through AICTE-EDUSAT network for conducting training programmes and seminars. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is already utilizing the infrastructure of EDUSAT for curriculum based education, teachers' training, professional educational courses and for conducting teleconferencing sessions for software content generation. National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is also conducting inter-active orientation/training programmes for teachers and educators.
