CISCE to reduce syllabus by 25 pc

In the wake of Corona pandemic, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has decided that it will reduce the syllabus of ICSE 10th and ISC 12th by 25% in the year 2020-21. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a substantial delay in the start of the academic year 2020-21 across the country.

In order to make up for the loss during the current session 2020-2021, the Council, said in the statement, that based on working with subject experts, it will reduce the syllabus of all major subjects of ICSE 10th and ISC 12th levels.

The statement also included that the reduction in syllabus of ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 has been done keeping in line with the linear progression across classes all the while ensuring that the core concepts related to a particular subject are retained.

Earlier, CISCE also disclosed the alternative assessment scheme for the pending exams of ICSE 10th and ISC 12th 2020. Students will be awarded an average of the best three percentage marks obtained in the subjects for which the ICSE 10th and ISC 12th exams 2020 have been successfully conducted.
