The CISCE board has decided to completely cancel the 10th ICSE exam in 2021 for all students due to the rapidly deteriorating COVID-19 situation. As a result, the optional exam option granted to ICSE Council Class 10 students has now been withdrawn. Previously, according to the circular published on April 16, the CISCE Board had given tenth graders the option to opt for the assessment module-based promotion or to take the exams later if the situation arose. However, this elective exam option has now been withdrawn and all students would be promoted according to the evaluation criteria established by the board. The 10th ICSE result in 2021 is based on the “fair and impartial” criteria established by the CISCE Board of Directors.
The Indian School Certificate Examination Council (CISCE) has reportedly decided to cancel the upcoming ICSE Class 10 2021 exams, including electives, amid student and parent concerns. The rapidly deteriorating COVID-19 situation across the country, especially in high-burden states such as Maharashtra and Delhi, has also contributed to CISCE’s thinking of conducting the ICSE board review in 2021.

Once the class 10 exams were canceled, the ICSE schools were invited to proceed with the admission procedures for class XI, i. H. 11th grade to start for these students. The board also asked schools to set a schedule for the start of online classes for 11th grade students at the earliest.
While the 10th ICSE exam in 2021 was completely canceled, the board confirmed its decision to postpone the 12th ISC exam until 2021 for the board’s 12th grade students. As previously announced, the Board of Directors will hold a review meeting in June to discuss the feasibility of taking the ISC Class 12 exam in 2021 and also to determine the dates. Until then, seniors on the CISCE board will have to wait for more updates.
