
Goa schools have been permitted to reopen for Classes 9 to 12 from October 18. The schools have to follow COVID 19 guidelines and standard operating procedures after attending schools.
In a circular issued by the government recently, the state government also has decided to reopen schools only after consulting with an expert committee. “Schools may, if required, initially follow a hybrid mode of teaching, that is, online as well as offline classes,” the circular stated. Masks, temperature checks and sanitisation are mandatory at the entry gates of institutions, and even the staff should be checked before entry, the circular added.

The department also has asked the management and heads of educational institutions to consider the infrastructure and conditions within schools.
Goa has recorded 68 cases, two casualties and total tally to 1,77,356 including 3,335 deaths. In fact, the coastal state has 679 active cases.
