
Schools in Odisha will reopen for physical classes for students of Classes 8 to 11 standards for October 21.
The schools were closed down due to the Covid 19 pandemic last year. The cases are declining in the state as a result the authorities have decided to reopen schools in the state. “The COVID situation has been improving in the state. We will resume classroom teaching for students of classes 8 and 11 from October 21. A notification will be issued soon,” School and Mass Education Minister S R Dash said.
Classes have already resumed for 9 and 12 standards in the state with strict adherence to healthy safety. Decisions to reopen schools from Class 1 to 7 are yet to be taken.
The cases in Odisha were 521 new COVID-19 cases recently taking the caseload to 10,33,809 and fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 8,274.
