
Puducherry schools reopen from November 8 in order to conduct physical classes of grade 1 to 8.
The incidence of Covid 19 cases have come down in the Union Territory and this is the reason the government has decided to allow physical classes for grade one to eight.
From September 1, the classes have already started for students of 9 and 12 grades.
The decision to reopen schools was taken by Puducherry Education Minister A Namassivayam recently.
Namassivayam said that the schools need to adhere to COVID protocols and all necessary standard operating procedures.

He also mentioned that it is not compulsory to send students to school. The consent of parents is also necessary for the safety of a child.
According to the norms, the Students of class 1, 3, 5 and 7 standards would have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while the students of grade 2, 4, 6 and 8 would have classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
However, the online classes will continue as usual along with the offline mode.
