The Uttar Pradesh Government is all set to build a Ramayana University in Ayodhya district. The Maharishi Vidyapeeth Trust has allocated 21 acres of land to set up the university. The Ramayana University aims to create employment opportunities for the youth and build their interest in Sanskrit language. The motive behind the establishment of the Ramayana University is to conserve the rich Indian culture and traditional education. Besides, it aims to inculcate love for the rich Indian civilisation among the younger generation. Students here will be taught the Vedas, The Ramayana, Upanishads, Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda, in addition to Sanskrit grammar and modern science.
The university entails to be a platform for students to acquire knowledge about the ancient Vedic education system. Further, it will also offer courses in hindi and modern science. In the first phase of the university, as many as 500 students will get admission, who will also be provided food and accommodation facilities.
