
Two colleges in Tamil Nadu – the Madras Veterinary College and the Christian Medical College in Vellore – will now partner institutions in the UK. The initiative is a part of the Knowledge Economy Partnerships (KEP) programme by the British Council.
The KEP programme is part of internationalising higher education, which creates collaborative partnerships and provides analysis and advice on international higher education trends and opportunities.
The recent initiative includes a one-year partnership programme between the veterinary college and the Royal Veterinary College of the University of London. Under this a number of online courses will be provided that will benefit veterinarians from both ends.
A similar programme online distance learning programme in family medicine will be formulated between CMC Vellore and the University of Edinburgh.
