Now provisions of one year free Internet connectivity for the beneficiaries, will be made possible as a part of the second phase of the project, whose first phase of the One Laptop Per Household was greeted with enthusiasm. The second phase of project is to entail the supply of free pendrives, laptop bags and other fringe benefits for clients under the project. It is hoped by the managers, INTU-IT GH LTD, under the furtherance of the second phase of the One Laptop Per Household project, the objective of supplying affordable laptop computers and solutions to about 150,000 homes in Ghana, in the next five years, would be met.
The second phase involves the partnership and collaboration of Credit Moll, Life Gate, MTN and INTU-IT GH LTD. It will supply affordable computers on credit up to 36 months for all category of individuals especially workers on Controller and Accountant General's Department (CAGD) pay roll without delays, especially when this phase is being operated on a well built client database reference system. It will take at least two-four working days for clients on Controller and Accountant General's Department pay roll to receive their laptops and other accessories. The project, which relies on financial incentives such as the provision of easy, secure and or favorable financing terms, lower than market costs and government exemptions, would also provide affordable combination of durable hardware and relevant software applications.
