
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal attended the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) executive committee meeting and announced that students in grades 6-12 will receive free textbooks as part of some new directives.
The NVS discussed various issues and guidelines related to the education of this Samitis. In addition to Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Minister of State for Education, Sanjay Dhotre, also attended the meeting.
Various topics were discussed during the meeting, for example, the provision of free textbooks for students in grades 6-12, free tablets for students in grade 9, and opportunities to raise CSR funds to improve dormitories and schools.
At the 40th session of the Executive Committee, it was also decided by the whole body that the elders of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti should be encouraged to adopt schools to make the flow of education more systematic and appropriate.

During the meeting, the main point of discussion for the NVS was a special recruitment campaign for the Northeast, Himalayas, Jammu and Kashmir regions, the implementation of a new transfer policy starting next year and the revision of the recruitment rules for engineering executives.
In a statement on Twitter, the Ministry of Education wrote: “The Minister of Education, Dr. RP Nishank chaired the 40th session of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Executive Committee. Key Talking Points – A special recruiting drive for the Northeast, Himalayas and J&K will be offered to students in grades 9 and up. “
Speaking about educational projects at the 40th meeting in Samiti, Minister Sanjay Dhotre said that the infrastructure of schools established under the new policy should be improved as a matter of priority.
He also highlighted the importance of online education during the current pandemic scenario in the country. He said: “After Covid, security and precautions will continue. The dissemination of digital education must take into account access and quality aspects. “
