Sanjay Kumar, an IAS officer appointed as Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education in Shashtri Bhawan in New Delhi. Sanjay Kumar is an IAS officer from the 1990 batch Bihar Cadre and was also former Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. He replaced Anita Karwal IAS upon her superannuation.
Sanjay Kumar evaluated the operation of the department, autonomous entities, and several school education-related programmes during a meeting with senior Ministry officials. The National Education Policy 2020 was discussed, along with teacher capacity building, school infrastructure, and the planned “Pariksha Pe Pariksha” Prime Minister’s Interaction Program. The education of every student in the nation will be of high quality, accessible, and affordable standards, according to Kumar. In Bihar, Sanjay Kumar also held the position of principal secretary for education.
