NTA releases NEET OMR sheets for students

NEET OMR sheets

In a major development, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the students’ response sheets on its official website — ntaneet.ac.in. Candidates can match their answers from the OMR sheets with the answer keys for all the subjects of NEET — Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

NTA has also allowed the students to raise objections against the NEET 2020 OMR sheets, in case answers marked by them are not displayed on the OMR sheets. Students who have taken the eligibility test of NEET can download the OMR sheets and tally their answers marked from NEET 2020 answer keys and calculate their probable scores. . NEET 2020 was held on September 13. More than 14 lakh students appeared for NEET 2020 this year.

NTA has earlier released the NEET 2020 question papers and answer keys with the correct responses to the 180 multiple choice questions asked in all the sections of the NEET 2020 paper including Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

CLAT 2020 results declared; check details

Providing huge relief to students, the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) on Monday announced the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2020) results. Candidates who have appeared in the CLAT 2020 examination can check their results online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

The CLAT 2020 examination was conducted on September 28, 2020, at 300 centres, spread across the country. The entrance examination is held for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes in participating institutions.

The counselling or admission process will commence from October 9 and will conclude on October 15 for which the registration process will begin from 12 pm on October 6 to 6 pm on October 7.

Education Minister releases guidelines for reopening of schools

In a major development, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the School Reopening Guidelines and SOPs prepared by Department of School Education & Literacy for Reopening of Schools.

The guidelines have been released following Home Ministry’s permission allowing states to reopen schools from 15th October 2020 onwards in a graded manner within their jurisdiction after thorough assessment of the prevailing situation.

The guidelines for reopening of schools across the county were released by the Education Minister along with the video message sent out from his official social media account.

Education Minister said that his ministry has prepared broad guidelines for the reopening of schools across the country keeping safety of the students as its top priority. However, he said, while ensuring complete safety of students, it is also important that ‘Suraksha’ and ‘Shiksha’ should go hand-in-hand and that academic continuity is maintained for the students.

Minister also added that the pandemic has affected the vulnerable sections of our society the hardest and therefore, while reopening of schools, state governments, officials, school administrators and educators need to ensure that the needs of the most vulnerable students, including homeless and migrant children and those directly affected by COVID-19 are given priority.

Kerala CM dedicates 90 Schools as Centres of Excellence

In a major development, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has dedicated 90 schools as Centres of Excellence and has laid the foundation stone for 54 school buildings.

The CM added that out of the 90 Centres of Excellence, four buildings have been constructed at a cost of Rs 5 Crore with funding from KIIFB while 20 buildings were built at a cost of Rs 3 Crore, 62 buildings have been built using the plan funds and four buildings will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3 Crore each with KIIFB funding n 20 buildings will be boots at the cost of Rs 40 Crore from the plan fund.

The newly inaugurated schools include two each in Pathanamthitta and Kasargod districts followed by three schools in Kottayam and Ernakulam each four schools in Wayanad, Five in Idukki, Six in Kollam and Palakkad, nine schools in Kozhikode, 10 schools each in Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram, 11 in Thrissur and 12 in Kannur.

Three school buildings are being constructed in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Palakkad and Kasargod districts while four school buildings will be conducted in Pathanamthitta.17 buildings will be built in Wayanad, two in Ernakulam, seven in Malappuram and nine in Kozhikode.

The Chief Minister also added that the changes in the field of School education were implemented considering the next generation. The closure of government schools was discussed which have now become centres of excellence with students coming in to study also increasing.

DU to release first cutoff list on Oct 10

Country’s premier varsity, Delhi University is expected to release the Delhi University Admissions 2020 first cutoff list on the official website on October 10, 2020. Students who have applied for the DU Undergraduate and Postgraduate 2020 admissions can visit the official website of the university to check the cutoff. The admissions against the first Delhi University cutoff lists will begin from October 12, 2020.

The Delhi University Admission 2020 cutoff list will be available on the official website of Delhi University – du.ac.in.

The Delhi University’s first cutoff list will be released on the official website of the university two days prior to the admissions. The first cutoff list of Delhi University admissions will include details like the college name, subjects, cutoff for each category.

Students who have applied for the admissions and have made the cutoff for the different subjects are required to complete the further admission process for the admissions. The students who qualify the cutoff can complete the admissions from October 12 to 14, 2020.

As per the schedule, the university is set to release five cutoff lists for the 2020 academic year admissions. The cutoff percentage will be separate for the different categories under which the students have already applied.

JEE Advanced 2020 registration process to begin on Oct 6

Earlier on the day, JEE Advanced 2020 examination results have been released on the official website. Students who have appeared for the examinations can visit the official website of JEE Advanced 2020 to check the results. The students who have qualified the JEE Advanced 2020 examinations are required to register themselves for the JoSAA Counselling 2020 and the JEE Advanced 2020 seat allotment.

The JEE Advanced 2020 counselling registrations will begin from tomorrow, October 6, 2020, the link to register for the JEE Advanced 2020 counselling will be open from 10 AM.

UP Govt allows schools to reopen from 15th Oct

In a major development, Uttar Pradesh Government is planning to reopen schools across the state from 15th October 2020 onwards in a graded manner. The State Administration informed that the decision to reopen schools in the state would be taken by the district administration on the basis of local Covid-19 situation and in consultation with schools.

The state administration has issued new guidelines which allow schools along with coaching institutes, outside the containment zones to reopen in the state after 15th October 2020 onwards.

The decision in UP to reopen schools was taken by the Yogi Government in line with the Unlock 5.0 Guidelines issued by the Central Government. Announcing the decision, UP Chief Secretary RK Tiwari informed media person that Schools, which fall outside containment zones will be allowed to reopen from 15th October 2020 onwards.

While in-principal approval for reopening of schools has been given by the state government, the final decision will rest on local administration and its assessment of prevailing COVID-19 situation in the district.

According to the revised guidelines shared by the state government, classes have been allowed to be held in the schools from 15th October 2020 onwards in line with the unlock guidelines.

No formal attendance system will be followed and moreover, students will need to have explicit consent from their parents to start attending schools from 15th October 2020 onwards.

Rajasthan HC asks Private Schools to Collect Fees until 9th Oct

Providing huge needed relief to parents and students, Rajasthan High Court has ordered all private schools operating in the state to bar collection of school fees until 9th October 2020. The High Court bench stayed orders issued under a judgement issued by a single judge allowing schools to collect 70 per cent tuition fees from the parents.

The stay on the order allowing private schools to collect fees was passed by a division bench of the Rajasthan High Court comprising of Chief Justice Inderjit Mahanti and Justice Mahendra Goyal. In the same order, the High Court also asked schools to refrain from collecting fees until 9th October 2020.

The plea challenging the earlier order allowing private schools in the states to collect 70% school fees by private fees was challenged via a plea filed by advocate Sunil Samadaria.

The petition challenged the earlier order, terming it as baseless and one that has no grounds. The petition also claimed that he management of the private schools fixed the tuition fees in violation of the RTE Act, flouting all norms of fee regulations.

Moreover, the petitioner argued that private schools did not give details to the court of the amount they had spent in schools during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the order of the single bench should be quashed.

The schools are closed due to Corona pandemic from mid-March across the country.

UGC urges HEIs to share suggestions over implementation on NEP

For the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all the higher education institutions to share their feedback and suggestions.

The regulator has asked all the higher education institutions to give wide publicity amongst the stakeholders for giving their feedback and suggestions on the MyGov portal of the government. The UGC has stated that as a part of the consultation process, an outline of the implementation plan covering the actionable points and associated activities as envisioned in the NEP 2020 document has been prepared.

The higher education regulator has also invited institutions to disseminate the information about the upcoming artificial intelligence summit beginning next week, RAISE 2020 amongst faculty and students and encourage them to participate in the summit. The Government of India is organizing the virtual summit on AI- Responsible Al for Social Empowerment (RAISE 2020) from October 5-9, 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the summit.

The UGC letter reads, “RAISE 2020 is aimed to unveil India’s vision for Al. showcase talent, create awareness and launch an action roadmap. It will focus on 5 distinct themes, viz. Responsible Al, Data, Collaboration, Ecosystem Development and Empowering a Billion+. Global experts and delegates in research, policy and innovation on Artificial Intelligence are expected to participate in the summit and share their insight on how to leverage the new wave technology towards the betterment of the larger global population.”

UPPSC releases UPPSC PCS Prelims Admit Card 2020; check details

UPPSC PCS Prelims Admit Card 2020

In a major move, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released UPPSC PCS Prelims Admit Card 2020. Candidates who would be appearing for the preliminary examination can download the admit card through the official site of UPPSC on uppsc.up.nic.in. The preliminary examination would be conducted on October 11, 2020.

The examination would be conducted on offline mode in two shifts. The exam would be conducted from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm at 19 districts across the state. UP PCS Prelims exam centers are located at Agra, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Ghaziabad, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Barabanki, Meerut, Moradabad, Mirzapur, Raebareli, Sitapur, Varanasi, and Mathura.
