UP Board takes help of technology to declare results by June 27

CGBSE 12th result 2020

In the wake of Corona pandemic, UP Board is taking the help of technology to prepare the results by June 27.

It has launched a limited access portal to work as a bridge between officials working at headquarters and those at the firm finalising the Board exam results.

To maintain confidentiality, this firm is based out of Uttar Pradesh.

The usual practice has been to send a team of 8 to 10 experienced staff members from each of five regional offices of UP Board located in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Bareilly to the state where the results are being finalised to maintain confidentiality.

With social distancing becoming a norm, this year, the portal is being used for receiving queries from the firm representatives and sending required information regarding missing details on case by case basis like missing practical or written exam marks of some students etc.

This is being done by getting the doubt sorted with the help of UP Board’s regional offices by HQ.

NCERT: Hostels should open in batches

NCERT

Once schools start resuming classes, they should not make hostels open to all students’, the NCERT has advised the education department in its draft titled Reopening of Schools in the time of COVID-19 Pandemic.

As the ministry is planning to give go-ahead to the schools in a phased manner, once the states are ready, a series of consultations are being held among the stakeholders.

As and when the schools resume operations, they will be nothing like schools before COVID-19. There will be no morning assembly, no cultural activities.

Not all students will be called on the same day as the NCERT has recommended odd-even formula for school re-opening. Apart from mandatory masks, temperature checking and social distancing, the schools will have to ensure that the students are not sharing anything with each other, including pen, pencil, copies, books, water, food.

The authorities will also have to ensure there are no food stalls in front of the schools.

The NCERT draft has some special recommendations for hostellers. They should be called in a phased manner and there should be proper quarantine facilities for them as they would be coming by train, the draft has recommended.

The hostel beds need to be reorganised to stick to 6-feet distance norm, the NCERT guideline said.

Nearly 400 teachers have tested positive, said the association. The letter written by the general secretary of the association, Ajay Veer Yadav, seeks to address the immediate need of the government teachers who are on duty to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.

Allegations The GSTA Delhi alleges that though the teachers who have tested positive are supposed to isolate themselves, they are still being called for duty.

The letter further emphasis that the teachers are being treated as surplus staff and being sent to high-risk areas without any protective kits. The work that is being done is in the direction of the staff who are at a much lower position than that of the teachers.

The association calls it an ‘insult’ saying “stress brings down the immunity level and hence greater possibility more viral attack. Also the reason for 400 testing positive.” The association demands that the teachers be relieved of all such extra duties and sent back to their respective teaching duties in school.
