In the wake of COVID-19 crisis, UP Government has released new academic calendar for the session 2020-21 for all the higher education institutions i.e. colleges and universities.
According to the new academic calendar, classes in UP will resume from 6th July 2020 onwards. Universities and Colleges have been asked to complete the fresh admission process by 14th August 2020 with classes for new students beginning from 17th August 2020.
Classes for existing students of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Semester Existing students will commence from 6th July. The admission process for fresh students will start on 14th August 2020 with classes resuming on 17th August 2020.
UP principal secretary (higher education), Monika S Garg, said she has also directed colleges and universities to cut down on winter holidays.
This will also help faculty members to complete the pending syllabus which is lagging behind due to the delay in reopening of colleges.
Moreover, for exams in universities that are based in orange and red zones, the answer sheets are to be transported to green zone and the evaluation work is to completed after due discussion with respective district administrations.
