CBSE allows Class 9th and 11th students to retake exams

In a major relief to students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all schools to allow students to take retests, who have failed in Class 9 and Class 11.

The board said schools have been given the option of conducting online, offline, based on which students can be promoted to the next level. All CBSE-affiliated schools will provide the opportunity to all the failed students of class 9 and 11 to appear in the school-based test.

Union HRD minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ wrote on Twitter: “All CBSE schools are being directed to provide an opportunity to all those children who have failed in 9th and 11th to take the test in online/offline/innovative way.”

CBSE has issued a notice to all its affiliated schools and has asked them to inform the students prior to holding the test. This is one-time opportunity is being extended only in the current year in view of the unprecedented conditions of COVID-19.

NCERT drafts new curriculum for next academic year

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) started preparing the new curriculum for the next academic year that will come into force from April 2021. The new curriculum is formed taking the New Education Policy in account.

The NCRET has submitted its report to the HRD Ministry earlier this month. The report highlights the key changes that the council plans to bring to its course curriculum and syllabus for school level studies. Changes in syllabus and books will mark the biggest change in terms of reforms when it comes to school level education.

The new curriculum plans to bring the new academic session from April 2021. However, the final implementation of the same would depend on the approvals from all the stakeholders including HRD Ministry.

These textbooks will be used by schools across the country as the guide for learning processes and teaching pedagogy. The new curriculum plans to reduce the content in each of the subjects to the core essentials and centre its focus on the fundamentals.

The new curriculum is being developed on the basis of the New Education Policy and the reforms that are being pioneers through it.

Odisha JEE to conduct special exam for B.Tech admissions

In the view of COVID crisis, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination committee has released notice for special OJEE for admission to B.Tech programme. Now, no separate exam will be conducted for the B.Tech exam.

The official site says that since it is not conducive to conduct the ‘2nd/Special OJEE in this session because of the time constraint, it has been decided to conduct, as an integral part of OJEE -2020, a Special Entrance Examination for admission into 1st year B.Tech. courses.

This exam will be held to fill vacant seats left out after 1st phase OJEE counselling only for those students, who have not been/ are not able to appear in the JEE Main 2020 examination due to any reason.

The online application for the special OJEE exam began on May 12 and will conclude on May 31, 2020. The last date to pay application fee is June 5.

The entrance examination will be computer-based (CBT).

The detailed schedule for exam and admit card downloading will be notified in due course of time, after assessment of the situation after May 17.

Kerala to conduct 10th and 12th Class exams from May 26

In the view of Coronavirus epidemic, the Kerala Education Department has announced the fresh dates of SSLC and Plus Two examinations. The class 10th and 12th examinations will be held from May 26 to May 29. The remaining papers of the SSLC will be held from May 26-28.

According t notification, Mathematics exam will be held on May 26, Chemistry on May 27 and Physics on May 28. Around 4.2 lakh candidates are appearing for the exam and it began March 10.

Kerala education minister C Raveendranath said “There is some delay due to the lockdown. But we will make it up and announce results as early as possible. All arrangements are on.”

Similarly the remaining exams of Plus One will also be held from May 26-28 and plus two exam will begin from May 26 and will go on till May 30.

The department said evaluation of papers which were held earlier will begin from May 13. It is expected to announce the SSLC results by second week of June.

UP Board to declare results for class 10th and 12th in June

In a major development, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma confirmed that Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad to declare UP Board 10th and 12th Results 2020 by June end. The results will be declared on its official website upresults.nic.in.

After weeks of delay, the process to evaluate answer sheets had started in green zones from 5 May. Sharma told that the process to examine answer sheets will start in orange zones comprising 36 districts from May 12. The process to evaluate papers in red zones will take place last as and when the COVID-19 situation improves in those areas.

Most of the exams are postponed or cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across the country.

Chhattisgarh Board cancels pending 10th and 12th class exams

In the wake of Coronavirus outbreak, Chhattisgarh Board has cancelled the pending board papers for CGBSE 10th and 12th Exam 2020. The board will allot marks for these cancelled subjects on the basis of internal assessment.

Board Chairman Prof. VK Goel during a formal press meet announced the decision to cancel the CG Board 10th and 12th Exam 2020 for pending subjects. Exams for only few minor subjects such as 10th Class Geography and a few optional subject papers for Class 12 Student are pending. For these subjects, the exams would not be held now and instead marks will be awarded on the basis of internal assessment.

The CG Board Chairman also stated that students who fail in the internal assessment test or those who were unable to participate in it earlier will be awarded minimum passing marks in order to help them clear the exam for these subjects.

The CGBSE 10th and 12th Board Exam 2020 which were being held in March 2020 were cancelled abruptly because of the nationwide lockdown announced to curb the spread of Coronavirus. All exams which were scheduled between 21st to 31st March 2020 were postponed by the board.

HRD Minister to hold webinar for teachers today

In the wake of COVID-19 crisis, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will be holding a live webinar dedicated for teachers today. The central theme of the interaction between the Minister and Teachers would be ‘Acharya Devo Bhava’. It will be third webinar organized by the HRD Minister.

The HRD minister will address queries and concerns of the teachers and educators. The live webinar for teachers is planned to be held at 12 PM in the afternoon. The webinar will be held through social media channels, i.e. via the official Twitter Handle and Facebook Page of the Minister.

The Union HRD Minister invited queries and questions from teachers and educators from across the country, which he will answer during the session. Teachers need to use social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and to reach out to the minister.

The central theme of the live webinar dedicated for teachers, is expected to be focused on the Acharya Devo Bhava mantra. In all the information that has been shared by the ministry, this common theme has been reiterated several times.

Prior to this, the minister has held seminars dedicated for parents and students on 27th April 2020 and 5th May 2020.

Mizoram Board declares MBSE class 10 Results, check at mbse.edu.in

In a major development, Mizoram Board of Secondary Education has announced the MBSE HSLC 2020 Results for the class 10 students. Students can check their results of the MBSE class 10 examinations on the official website – mbse.edu.in.

To check the Mizoram Board class 10 results students have to visit the official website and enter the hall ticket number in the Mizoram board admit card.

The Mizoram Board 10th exams were conducted from 17th February to 3rd March 2020. The MBSE HSLC 2020 practical exams were conducted between 4th February and 11th February 2020. The admit cards of Mizoram Board Class 10 exam 2020 were released in the month of February.

The Mizoram Class 10 result will carry details such as Students’ name, roll number, rank, subject-wise marks and other details. Students are advised to check the details mentioned on the mark sheet and take a printout of the same for future references.

The result was delayed due to the lockdown imposed in the country over COVID pandemic.

KIET pledges donation of cash & CSR activities to spread happiness during the gloomy times

Amid Covid-19, whence our countrymen are being adversely impacted due to exigency, KIET Group of Institutions, along with its sister branch Krishna Engineering College & the Management of both the institutes, have deposited a sum of INR 21 Lacs in the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief fund (Uttar Pradesh).

The students of kit have also joined hands with the government in finding innovative solutions to fight the crisis. The students of KIET School of Pharmacy have submitted various ideas to the government bodies and offered their products to them viz. they have already launched a biometric finger sanitizer and are in the process of launching few more products including Full body sanitizers for the public and specially educational institutes. A project of student of IT department from KIET has also been selected for the 2nd level assessment.

KIET teams donated 10 PPE Kits, 10 face shields, 10 helmets and 700 masks& sanitizers to the medical college of Meerut and they are making & donating 100 khadi masks & 5 liter sanitizer to the policemen & local residents of Meerut every morning. A team of the institute even distributed masks among the residents of nearby villages, Asalat Nagar and Shobhapur.
