TSCHE to conduct exams for EAMCET, ICET, ECET, PGECET in June

Keeping the COVID-19 outbreak in mind, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education is expected to conduct entrance tests such as EAMCET, ICET, ECET, PGECET 2020 in June 2020.

The examinations have been postponed by the state council due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The state of Telangana is under a state lockdown until May 7, 2020.

According to reports, the TSCHE chairman T Papi Reddy said the authorities will take close to three weeks to conduct the Common Entrance Tests after the application process. It is therefore expected that the examinations will be conducted by mid-June 2020 provided the lockdown across the country.

Students can visit the official website – tsche.ac.in. regarding the different examinations.

Students can submit the application forms until May 5, 2020, which are the extended dates for the candidates to submit the applications. The Application correction facility will be available for the candidates until May 6, 2020, to May 11, 2020.

The schedule for the national entrance examinations has been delayed due to the delay in the declaration of the class 12 board examination results.

Putting all the rumours to rest, Bihar Board has decided to declare class 10th Results in second week of May if the lockdown is not extended. In a statement issued the board says it has fully evaluated almost 75 per cent of the response publications for matric results.

The BSEB is anticipated to make a formal announcement to ensure the students are able to check their results readily. The board will declare the results on its official website.

But, no dates are been declared by the board as the situation is depended upon lockdown. The last date to declare the 10th outcomes 2020 will likely be done after completion of Assessment Work.

BSEB chairman has given a tentative date in Week of May 2020 for Bihar Board Result 2020’s statement, the date will be announced only after the examination function for the response books of the students’ completion.

BSEB informed through a press release, concerning the postponement of evaluation.Together with the postponement of test, Class 10 students of Bihar Board will have to wait a little longer for their outcomes.

The board deputed over 20,000 evaluators to examine the response sheets of their pupils and has set a total of 100 evaluation centres.

E-learning platforms offer free courses through AICTE

To contain the spread of COVID-19, the Government of India announced national-wide lockdown. The lockdown has forced all the educational institutions to shut down their campuses.

Students of AICTE approved institutes are eligible to apply for the free certificate and diploma courses. Some of the courses being offered free of cost include new age programmes like Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Software Testing, etc.

To be eligible for the free courses, students need to register before May 15 on the AICTE website.

India went into full-fledged lockdown on mid-March, some of the institutions shut down weeks before that nationwide lockdown.

The pandemic lockdown has forced institutions to resort to the online mode of teaching to engage with the students and also complete the syllabus of the ongoing academic year.

UPPSC postpones application form submission date

Keeping the view of COVID-19 crisis in view, the UPPSC has released a notice to extend the submission of the application form. The notification was released on its official website i.e. uppsc.up.nic.in.

Now applicants can submit the hard copy of UP PCS mains form to the commission’s office up to May 15, 2020.

Prior to this, the last date of submission got also extended twice on March 26 and April 19. The commission has not provided the exam dates yet.

Prior to this the UP PCS Main exam which was scheduled to be held from April 20 and the UPPSC RO, ARO prelims exam 2016 which was scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2020 are also postponed by the commission.

Prior to this, the commission had released a notification to fill a total of 200 vacancies for UPPSC 2020 recruitment on April 21.

Elets Technomedia and digitalLEARNING Magazine organized a webinar on “Virtual Revolution in Early Childhood Education: Are we future ready!” with some eminent speakers from the education industry. The panelists presented their views over the dilemma witnessed in the sector especially in pre-schools.

Speaking over the issue, Purvesh Sharma, Co-Founder & COO, Footprints Childcare Private Limited, New Delhi, said “The whole eco-system is very small and adopting technology was not an issue for us. We focused on engaging sessions including storytelling and dance classes. Engaging children is a bigger challenge for teachers. There is a complete uncertainly when will be the schools will be opened.”

He also said fundamental challenges will not be the same and a new world will be seen post-COVID-19.

He also urged parents and teachers to join hands to teach children and to find creative ways to engage them. He also said toddlers will find it very difficult to cope with the crisis as nowhere pre-schools teach through online. He also said virtual classes cannot replace the physical ones, especially for toddlers.

Tijay Gupta, COO, Bachpan & AHPS Schools, New Delhi, said “Corona is the biggest challenge as no parents are interested in offering online teaching to their toddlers. We are facing huge issues with non-metro cities with internet connectivity. Another huge challenge is parents don’t think pre-schools are necessary for their kids.”

He also said a hybrid model of teaching will be the next big thing in the education sector. Gupta also said a new type of schools will be seen after post-COVID-19 and technology can be the only option in this crisis. He also said, the school is planning to start life skill lessons on Saturday and Sunday which can boost the socio-economic responsibility of students.

Pritam Kumar Agarwal, Founder & Director, Hello Kids, Bangalore, said “Pre-schools were not ready to deal with online education, and teachers were not ready to take online classes. The situation came as a surprise to us. We must start engaging sessions rather than providing content to kids. Even, the villages are getting ready to accept online education.”

He also said, “Teachers are not only facing the child but also their parents and it’s difficult for them to cope with it. Teachers are trained to teach in physical classes as the virtual one will be a bit of an issue or them. “

Shobhan Soi, CEO, Clay Preschools, Ludhiana, said “Technology was not very handy with us. Our curriculum was designed for the classroom and we are not expecting parents to teach their children in homes. We need to develop structured learning ways for kids. We had to re-design our curriculum and Technology is a biggest challenge and that needs to be addressed.

She also said, “The game has completed changed and this is the new new for pre-schools and we have to start asking why pre-schools. “

She also said parents and teachers must work in partnership and re-think strategies for the better future of kids.

Marion Hopfgartner, Educationalist, International Speaker, Founder of TLI Pedagogies & Author, Vienna (Austria), said “We couldn’t be prepared ourselves for such crisis. We have adopted online classes easily. Over 80 pc pre-schools are supported by govt in Europe. Some of the pre-schools are opened in Europe. We have to reinvent ourselves in this crisis. The parents’ are not teachers and they need help.”

She even emphasized that digitalization is dangerous for the education sector and children will never understand the digital content. She also said content teaching is not important, but life skills are for kids.

She also said children need love and nurture and everything cannot be taught through digitization.

Amol Arora, Vice- Chairman & Managing Director, Shemrock and Shemford Group of Schools, New Delhi, said “It’s a very serious crisis and suddenly everything has changed. It’s all experimentation happening right now. It’s a very early stage for pre-schools. Children don’t understand what’s happening. It’s a complete flux for pre-schools and we need to create a new business module.”

He also said Technology has become a pacifier for parents and everything will not be the same post COVID. He also said virtual classes will not replace the physical ones as children love to be with his friends in schools.

Keeping the COVID-19 lockdown in view, the HRD Ministry released an alternative academic calendar to facilitate ‘stay at home’ learning process for the students of the Upper Primary Classes i.e. from 6th to 8th Class students.

The Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ formally released The Stay at Home Academic Calendar in New Delhi.

The Alternative Academic Calendar has been developed by NCERT keeping in mind the current times of school closures and online learning due to on-going national lockdown.

The calendar provides broad guidelines and also prescribes various activities those teachers and academics can use to engage students classes 6, 7 and 8 during their stay at home.

Students and Parents can have a detailed look at the alternative academic calendar to understand the various aspects related to it.

According to the official notification, the NCERT’s Alternative Academic Calendar provides weekly academic plan to the teachers using which they can engage students. The calendar provides interesting and challenging activities for the students to do that are based on the theme or chapter taken from syllabus or textbook.

Furthermore, these activities and themes associated with them are also mapped against learning outcomes for the students. The calendar also prescribes a host of experiential activities for the students in a variety of subjects including Education, Physical Education, Yoga, Arts and Pre-vocational training.

The HRD ministry in association with NCERT will also release an alternate academic calendar for higher classes i.e. 9th to 12th Class students as well.

Tamil Nadu Board not to declare class 12 results today

Keeping the lockdown in view, the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination which was expected to release the TN class 12 Results 2020 April 24, 2020, will not be releasing the same today.

Students who have appeared for the Tamil Nadu class 12 results 2020 are advised to visit the official website i.e tnresults.nic.in for more updates.

The Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board examinations were conducted from March 2 to 24, 2020.

The Tamil Nadu Board class 12 Exam Result 2020 will be released on the official website – tnresults.nic.in.

With the lockdown being imposed from March 24 it is expected that the declaration of the class 12 Tamil Nadu Board examination results 2020 will be delayed.

Reports suggest that the TN Class 12 board results 2020 will be declared by June 2020.

The Tamil Nadu State Higher Education Department is also planning to begin the online registrations for the Engineering Counselling as soon as the Class 12 examination evaluation begins.

Jharkhand Combined Civil Services exam 2016 results announced, check on jpsc.gov.in

Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in the nation, Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has declared the final results of the 6th JPSC combined civil services exam 2016.

Candidates can check their results on its official site jpsc.gov.in.

JPSC had conducted the interview round from February 24 to March 6 on the basis of which, the results have been compiled.

The JPSC carries out its candidate selection based on a prelims exam followed by a main exam. The main exam comprises a written test and an interview round.

While 5,138 candidates were declared qualified, a plea was filed by a candidate from the reserved category who said candidates from the unreserved category who had scored less than him had been declared qualified as well.

The number of shortlisted candidates rose to 6,103.

While in 2018, the state government came up with another resolution which increased qualifiers to 34,634, the Jharkhand High Court dismissed it and directed the Commission to continue with the main exam with 6,103 candidates.

Jammu and Kashmir Board may declare results after lockdown

According to reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is likely to release the JKBOSE Result 2020 for Class 10 and Class 12 students soon after the lockdown is lifted. To prevent the outbreak of Covid-19, the govt has called a lockdown in the country till May3, 2020.

The Board has also decided to allow home evaluation of the answer sheets for the exams which have been held or completed before lockdown.

The evaluation work for JKBOSE Class 10th and 12th Board Exam 2020 will be held in ‘work from home’ mode, wherein teachers and evaluators will be allowed to complete the checking of answer booklets from their homes.

Following the completion of this process, JKBOSE 10th and 12th Result 2020 is expected to be declared by the board soon after the lockdown is lifted on 3rd May 2020.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board had postponed the class 10 and 12 board examinations 2020 due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the country.

The board had earlier on decided to promote all the class 11 students from the Jammu and Kashmir region to the next class without conducting an examination.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board has decided to let the evaluators and examiners check the class 10 and 12 answer sheets at home as a one-time exception due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Many boards including CBSE, ICSE have cancelled or postponed exams till further notice.
