Online registration for JEE Main exam to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for the first time will end on September 30.
Candidates preparing for JEE Main (I) can apply for it on the official website of NTA at nta.ac.in. Online fee payment for JEE Main can be done till October 1 (11.50 pm).
Candidates will also be able to edit their filled-in application forms of JEE Main from October 8 to October 14. JEE Main (I) admit card is likely to be released in December and the exam is slated to be held in January 2019.
This is the first exam to be conducted by the NTA after it was officially assigned to handle entrance exams like JEE Main, NEET, GPAT, CMAT and NET. Earlier, the exams were conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
JEE Main is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes (B Tech) in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Main also conducted as the preliminary examination for JEE Advanced – Entrance Exam conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes (B Tech) in IITs.
This year, the exam will be held from January 6 to January 20, 2019. From this year onwards, JEE main will be conducted twice a year. Out of the two, the best score of a candidate will be considered for admission.
