Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has inaugurated the first private university of the state. The CM announced the inauguration of the state’s first private University — The Techno India University. “We passed the bill in the assembly within seven days to have a private University. In the last one year, we are coming up with three new universities, the Kazi Nazrul University in Asansole, Panchanan Barman University in Coochbehar ad now this Techno India University at Rajarhat. the CM said. “After we came to power, we brought a bill to set up this engineering university in the private sector by Techno India group,” she said.
The Techno India group chairman said the state government asked it to provide free education to 10 per cent students and half free to five per cent which was accepted.
