Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has reached a significant milestone by becoming the first Indian university to host an IELTS test centre on its campus. This achievement comes as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with IDP Education India Private Limited, based in New Delhi. The new centre is expected to offer Manipal Academy of Higher Education students convenient access to IELTS test modules and special perks like discounted memberships and guidance from experienced faculty mentors.
The facility, situated within the Department of Humanities & Management at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), will be exclusively available for MAHE students. Registration is now open, with the first paper-based IELTS test set to take place on November 7, 2024.
The MoU was officially signed on October 14, 2024, in the presence of Dr. Giridhar Kini, Registrar of MAHE, and Mr. Kishan Kumar Yadav, Area Manager for IELTS Operations in South India at IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd. “We are excited that MAHE is the first university in India to have an IELTS Test Centre on campus,” said Dr. Giridhar Kini. “This initiative strengthens our commitment to expanding global opportunities for our students and community, making it easier for them to access international education pathways while further promoting academic excellence and global exposure.”
