Minister of Human Resource and Development Smriti Irani will be on a three-day visit to The Bahamas, to attend the 19th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers. In the plenary session on 24th June, 2015, a report will be presented by the Commonwealth Secretariat on “Quality Education for Equitable Development: Performance, Paths and Productivity”. Irani will be addressing the main Plenary Session and delivering her remarks with reference to the report presented by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
Other Sessions include ministerial roundtables on “Quality in Education: Enhancing the Performance of Teachers:”, “ICT Integration in Education Systems and Across Sectors”, “Quality in Education”, “Post 2015 Goals for Education”, etc. Towards the end of the Session, on 26th June, 2015, a Bahamas Communique will be issued.
Irani is accompanied by Ved Prakash, Chairman, UGC, Satbir Bedi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development and Chandra Bhushan Sharma, Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
