Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET 2021) has been declared today. The results are available on the official website at result.gseb.org. According to the official notice, the results were declared at 10 am.

The GUJCET 2021 results were held on August 6, 2021. The results contain details of how many scores have been obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination and the percentage they have secured. The preliminary answer key for GUJCET 2021 was announced on August 13.

On August 17, the students were allowed to raise objections to the preliminary answer key. However, the preliminary answer key will be released soon.

GUJCET examination is conducted so that students can take admission to Bachelor of Engineering and Technology/Bachelor of Pharmacy courses in government, grant-in-aid and self-financed engineering institutions in the state.

  • Go to the gujcet.gseb.org website
  • Click on the “GUJCET result”
  • Enter your seat number.
  • Click on the Submit button.
  • GUJCET result 2021 will be displayed in front of you.
  • Download the results and take a print out.

School will be closed down again if covid situation worsen in UP: Govt

UP schools closed again

The Uttar Pradesh government has recently decided to reopen schools for regular classes. If things worsens and the COVID 19 pandemic situation becomes intense, the government will once again close down schools in the state.

This was announced by the Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma to the state legislative council while answering questions asked by the constituency member Dhruv Kumar Tripathi.

Speaking in this context, Sharma said, “In basic education, attendance is not compulsory. We have also not made attendance mandatory for classes from 9 to 12. Guardians, teachers and political organisations have also said offline education should be started even if it is for a shorter period.”

“In UP, the present atmosphere is sufficiently secure but if there is any indication of any concern (regarding Covid), we can also close schools,” he added.

The minister also said that the vaccination for children below 18 years is expected by September and that they will be able to inoculate children.

The state government has reopened the schools from August 16 for classes 9 to 12 and for classes 6 to 8 it will reopen from August 23 and for Classes 1 to 5 from September 1.

 

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate two Academic Complexes at IIT Bhubaneswar

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the two academic complexes at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar today.

Pushpagiri Lecture Hall Complex and Rushikulya Hall of Residence are the two complexes that will be inaugurated by the education minister. Around Rs 1,260 crore has been sanctioned for the creation of institute infrastructure.

The director of the institute said: “The lecture halls are designed to be of new age and serve as e-classrooms wherein live streaming of lectures with interaction can be done with lecture recording facility and can be used for conventional classes.”

“The lecture halls are designed to work with air-conditioning as well as natural ventilation during the winter months. The lecture halls provide electrical connections for charging of laptops, internet access through WiFi, document visualizers for board work, apart from white boards, CCTV surveillance etc,” the director added.

NEET MDS 2021 counselling process will start today

NEET MDS 2021 counselling

NEET MDS 2021 counselling for admissions will begin today. The exams were held last year. The counselling will start on August 20 to October 10.

Counselling will be held online through the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The registration process will end on 24 August, 2021.

However, the seat allotment process will start from August 25 to 26. The results will be released on August 27. The candidates will have to report to their colleges that have allotted them between August 25 and September 1, 2021.

The examination for NEET MDS was conducted on December 16 and the results were announced on December 31. There are 6,500 seats available for students clearing NEET MDS examination. Around 30,000 BDS (dental) graduates appeared for the NEET MDS examination.

The Central government has also declared a 27 percent quota for OBCs and 10 percent reservation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental programmes for the 2021-22 academic year.

University of Calicut has declared the results for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The results are available on the official website of the university at results.uoc.ac.in.

The University of Calicut on Wednesday announced results for:

* II semester M.Sc. Chemistry (affiliated colleges) examination 4/2020 (R&S),

*II semester M.A. economics (affiliated colleges) examination 4/2020,

*VI semester B.Com/B.Com vocational/BBA/BTHM/BHA examination April 2021,

*VI semester SDE-CUCBCSS B.Com/B.B.A/B.Sc Mathematics regular/supplementary/improvement examination April 2021,

*II semester M.A. sociology (affiliated colleges) examination 4/2020,

*II semester M.A. Malayalam examination 4/2020,

*II semester M.A. Malayalam with journalism examination 4/2020,

Tamil Nadu issues SOPs for Reopening Schools From September 1

The Tamil Nadu government has released procedures for reopening schools in the state. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are issued by the government to start classes.

The classes 9 to 12 will reopen from September 1, 2021. The schools will reopen with fifty percent strength. Students and staff working in schools will have to follow COVID guidelines as per the SOP released.

The staff and teachers should also be vaccinated and the entry will be prohibited for any symptomatic teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

The government said all schools will be screened by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) teams and other PHC teams will also mobilize and keep a check on it.

All Covid protocols should be maintained in schools such as wearing masks, social distancing, well-sanitized schools including others. All entry and exit COVID protocols should be followed by the school’s staff, teachers and students.

Recently, Tamil Nadu recorded 1,804 fresh COVID-19 cases. A total of 25,92,436 cases were reported. The death toll rose to 34,579 with the addition of 32 new fatalities on Tuesday. Around 20,225 active infections currently in the state.

Uttar Pradesh will reopen Schools for Classes 1 to 8 soon

The Uttar Pradesh government has given permission to reopen physical classes in the schools for students of Classes 6 to 8 from August 23 and for Class 1 to 5 from September 1.

The physical classes in schools for Classes 9 to 12 have already started. Proper Covid 19 protocols are being maintained in the schools and classes have resumed from August 16. “The order has been issued to open schools for students of classes 6-8 from September 23 and for classes 1-5 from September 1,” a senior official said.

Earlier this week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said that the schools should resume their teaching activity for Classes 6 to 8 from August 23 after Rakshabandhan. The state has reported 27 new COVID 19 cases and there is a total number of 420 active cases. The classes for the primary session will resume with 50 percent capacity.

The Edtech platform Yellow Class, has raised $6 million in a series A round of funding led by Elevation Capital. There were participation from other existing investors such as India Quotient, Titan Capital and First Cheque.

Investors like Vidit Aatrey (Co-founder, Meesho), Alok Mittal (Founder, Indifi), Vivekananda Hallekere (Co-founder, Bounce), Maninder Gulati (Global CSO, OYO) Abhinav Sinha (COO, OYO), Dhruv Agarwala (CEO, PropTiger) and Alvin Tse (Country Director, Xiaomi Indonesia ) were also part of the deal.

The funds are expected to be utilized by the company for improving product experience, building brand awareness, developing more holistic content, hiring for leadership roles across the product, technology and engineering verticals, and driving expansion in over 500 cities in India and international markets.

In November 2020, the company had raised $1.5 Mn in a seed round led by India Quotient.

The company’s higher officials said in a statement, “In the last 10 years, there has been an exponential rise in the time spent by children passively consuming online content—which is extremely harmful to their growth. Studies have shown that more than 100 million Indian kids below 13 years of age spend an average of 100 hours per month on YouTube and other similar platforms.”

“Parents are actively looking for better, interactive alternatives that would be beneficial for their child’s cognitive growth. With Yellow Class, we are creating a new category in the ed-tech space. Easy to access, fun, interactive classes that kids love. Now children can spend their time in active learning and hone new skills. We aim to serve 10 million monthly active users on YellowClass platform in a year from now. Commenting on the funding, Deepak Gaur, Partner, Elevation Capital, said, “Given the increasing importance of holistic development, extracurricular learning represents one of the fastest growing sectors in ed-tech.”

“Yellow Class offers the widest range of extracurricular activities for children through live-streamed classes with a gamified AI layer that builds interactivity and engagement,” Gaur added.

JEE Main 2021 Admit Card for Session 4 expected today

The admit card for JEE Main 2021 session 4 will be released today by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The admit card will be available on the official website-jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students can download the admit card from the website by entering their application numbers and date of birth.

JEE Main is conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes. The exams are held in an online mode with multiple choice questions at designated examination centres. However, these exams are held four times a year in order to offer flexibility to students. The candidates clearing JEE will mainly take admissions to Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).

Moreover, the exams were conducted in 13 languages (English, Hindi, Gujarati along with Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu).

The third session examination was conducted on July 20. The number of candidates registered for Session 3 was 7.09 lacs. However, the number of cities also has increased from 232 to 334 along with the number of examination centres in each shift increased from 660 to 828.

All Covid 19 protocols will be closely monitored and maintained such as facemasks will be provided to all students at the exam centre. All seats and computers will be sanitized. Common places, furniture and fixtures will also be sanitized before and after the JEE Main exams. The examination centre will also have open windows and fans for proper circulation. Proper social distancing norms will be maintained.

Students must take a print out of the admit card as instructed by NTA. The candidate needs to bring it during the exam and enter the registration number mentioned on it.

Delhi University to release its first Cut-Off List by October 1 for undergraduate courses

Delhi University will release its first cut-off lists by October 1 for students taking admission to undergraduate programmes. “We are planning to start by October 1. With October 2 and 3 being holidays, we will start the admission process by October 4,” said Professor Pinki Sharma, Dean, Admissions, according to a news report to a news agency.

Earlier, Delhi University was about to release the cut-off lists between September 8-10. It got delayed as the Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare results for compartment, optional and improvement exams. In addition, the NEET and JEE examinations will also be over soon. So, DU has decided to extend the first cut-off lists for admission to first year UG programs currently.

However, CBSE has also declared the Class 12th results on August 3. There are 65,000 seats available at the DU colleges and the competition is tremendous as DU cut-offs have been very high for the last few years. Surprisingly, the DU cut-off went 100 % for some colleges last year.
