Goa CM: NEP 2020 to be implemented after taking institutions into confidence

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has informed the State Legislative Assembly that the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2020 will not be implemented in the state until the relevant institutions have been treated confidentially.

Opposition leaders including Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Vijai Sardesai, Rohan Khaunte, Sudin Dhavalikar and Luizinho Faleiro have expressed concern about the implementation of the NEP. The question was posed by Churchill Alemao on the floor of the house.

In response to these concerns, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the NEP would be implemented once the confidentiality of all institutions was maintained. “We have already started an infrastructure survey in several schools,” he said. During question time, Lourenco expressed concern that NEP would usurp the rights of institutions run by minority communities and said the state government should clarify the matter. Sardesai said there is a concept of forming ‘groups’ of schools to implement the policy. “Schools run by the diocesan society fear that once these groups are formed, their unique existence will be preserved or diluted,” he said, and asked the state government not to rush into implementing the Policy.

Khaunte also noted that the government had not conducted an impact study to assess the impact of the NEP. “If the structure changes, the effects should be studied. The CM should hold half a day or a day of policy discussion in the assembly,” he said.

CBSE releases competency-based assessment framework

The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) announced a competency-based assessment framework for science, math, and English. The assessment framework aims to strengthen the existing school education system in India for students in grades 6-10 and improve overall learning outcomes. The British Council and AlphaPlus, the UK knowledge partner, designed and developed this framework after extensive research and analysis of the current model of learning and assessment in Indian schools.

The framework released today is part of the CBSE competency-based education project, which aims to replace the existing red learning model with a competency-based framework as defined in NEP 2020 over the course of two to three years to come.

The framework, according to an official statement, is the basis for a larger project exercise that is currently training 40 assessment designers, 180 test item writers, and 360 master mentor instructors to use the framework to create a question bank and lesson plans.

In the first phase, some schools from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, UT Chandigarh and private schools across the country will participate in the program, which will be expanded to 25,000 CBSE schools in India by 2024. JEE Main March 2021 Final answer keys released, result expected soon

NTA to release CMAT 2021 admit card; check details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will post the CMAT 2021 approval card on its official website on Wednesday. Candidates who have registered for the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) can download their admission card from the official website cmat.nta.nic.in. According to the revised schedule published by NTA, CMAT 2021 will take place on March 31.

Previously, NTA had planned to launch CMAT 2021 on February 22. However, the review had to be postponed. The NTA announced Monday that CMAT 2021 will take place on March 31. Applicants will receive their tickets soon. NTA announced on March 22 that the post is expected to go live on March 24 at 10 a.m. However, it has not yet been published. CMAT will be a computerized test. The exam is done in two teams. Telangana shuts down educational institutions amid rise in Corona cases

Karnataka to continue offline classes, exams at colleges in limbo

“Strict surveillance will be applied to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures while taking courses and exams offline according to the schedule set by universities, as the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic could break out” said CN Deputy Chief Minister Ashwathnarayan.

He added that the decision is applicable to all universities, colleges, technical colleges and all other educational institutions that are subordinate to the Department of Higher Education. Ashwathnarayan, who is also in charge of the portfolio of universities, said the meeting also discussed possible ways that a second wave of the pandemic could affect university activity. “Some issues related to organizing online and offline courses, exams for upper semesters and exams for lower semesters were also widely discussed,” he added.

Delhi Cabinet approves opening 100 schools of specialised excellence

The Delhi cabinet approved the creation of around 100 special schools, providing children with a platform to develop their talents and excel in fields that interest them.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the specialization will be in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), visual and performing arts, humanities and high-level skills of the 21st century.

“We will live in an era of specialization and excellence. Our children need the opportunity to prepare for the challenges of the next generation. Each child is unique and gifted. We want to make sure they have the opportunity and support to move forward goals “Success in your life.

“Schools with specialized excellence provide our children with the appropriate platform to develop their talents and distinguish themselves in areas of their particular interests,” Sisodia said in a statement.

He added that these schools will be election-based, covering grades 9-12 as part of the 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 schooling introduced by the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP).

All Delhi public schools will also be upgraded to Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV) and existing schools of excellence.

Technical schools will focus on providing experiential learning opportunities through state-of-the-art infrastructure, creativity and problem-solving learning and teaching, close partnerships with universities and industry leaders, mentoring programs, and easy access to role models.
