Kerala Board declares Plus Two examinations 2020 results

Amidst Corona crisis, the Kerala Directorate of Higher Secondary education has declared the Kerala Board Plus Two examinations 2020 results online. Students who have appeared for the Kerala Board class 12 examinations can visit the official website results.kite.kerala.gov.in to check results.

State Education Minister C. Raveendranath in the press conference conducted, said the state has recorded a total pass percentage of 85.13 percent. The pass percentage in 2019 was 84.33 percent. For the 2020 examinations 3, 75, 655 regular students appeared out of which a total of 3,19,782 students qualified for the Higher Education courses.

Looking at the streamwise pass percentage for the Kerala Plus Two exams, the Science stream has performed well with a total pass percentage of 88.62 percent followed by Humanities and Commerce streams with 77.66 percent and 84.52 percent respectively. 18, 510 students have secured a full A plus in their respective streams.

Ernakulam District has recorded the highest pass percentage of 89.02 percent while the lowest has been recorded at Kasargod district with 78.68 percent.

At the press conference, the state Education Minister also confirmed that the students who are not satisfied with the marks secured and wish to apply for the re-evaluation process can do so until July 21, 2020. The Education Minister has also clarified that the admission process to Class 11 will be conducted from July 24, 2020.

Grandmother from Meghalaya clears Class 12 exams

Defying age, a 50-year-old grandmother, Lakyntiew Syiemlieh from a remote village in Meghalaya has cleared the Class 12 board examinations. She was a school drop-out. She is earning kudos for her achievement and becoming a social media star of sorts.

The results of the Meghalaya board’s Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSLLC), Arts stream, were announced.

Lakyntiew was the oldest student and proudly adorned the uniform while attending classes in Balawan College in Ri- Bhoi district for two long years.

The grandmother had dropped out of school in 1988 because mathematics was a headache-inducing experience for her.

In 2015, Lakyntiew took up a distance education course offered by IGNOU after a gap of 26 years to retain her post at SSA School, where she used to teach.

Lakyntiew said, she has been replying to congratulatory messages on her Facebook page and is busy attending to calls from friends and family members.

Radio jockey Desmond Rimaki Sunn posted on his Facebook page, “If you have the will power to succeed, nothing can stop you.”

CBSE declares Class 10th Results; check details

After long and anxious wait for students, Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the CBSE 10th result 2020. The CBSE board class 10th Result 2020 is made available on the official website, cbseresults.nic.in 2020 class 10.

Students need to enter their roll number, date of birth, school number, centre number and admit card ID to open the CBSE Class 10th result 2020.

Over 16 lakh students have reportedly appeared for the Class 10 board examination this year. The exams for almost all the main subjects for CBSE Class 10 were complete before the lockdown was imposed. The results of the students who could not appear in all the papers would be commuted on the basis of the evaluation criteria released by the board.

The CBSE Class 10 results 2020 are released on the basis of the alternative assessment strategy for certain exams had been cancelled owing to the pandemic. CBSE 10th exams 2020 were conducted from 15th February to 20th March 2020. Students can also access their CBSE 12th result 2020 via SMS by typing <CBSE10>Space<ROLL No.>Space<Admit Card ID> and sending it to 7738299899.

In a major move, the HRD Ministry has issued guidelines to state governments and UTs asking them to facilitate admission for migrant students to courses for further education without asking for transfer / migration certificates.

The guidelines issued by MHRD comes following a concern raised by it over falling enrolment numbers in respective schools, following the mass migration of workers to their native places during the COVID-19 lockdown in April – May 2020.

All students who have migrated to their native villages and towns, can now seek admission to their local government schools and institutions without having to furnish transfer documents and continue their studies. Ministry has also asked the state governments to build and maintain a database of all such students who have been extended admission without proper documents.

With the falling enrolment numbers in the schools, especially government schools across the country, the HRD Ministry has directed states to take corrective steps and measures to address it. One important step in this direction comes in the form of the guideline released today, which direct state governments to allow students to seek admission to schools without furnishing documents. State governments and administrators of the Union Territories to prepare a database of all such students who have migrated and are not struck from the school rolls.

CBSE to declare Class 10 Results 2020 today

Nearly 16 lakh Class 10 students, who have been eagerly waiting for the declaration of CBSE 10th Result 2020 will be over today. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would be publishing the Class 10 Results for Secondary students today i.e. on 15th July 2020. Like every year, the CBSE Results will be published online on the official website of the board i.e. cbseresults.nic.in. Alternatively, to ensure easy availability of CBSE 10th Class Results, the board will also publish the CBSE Class 10 Results 2020 online via alternative means as well i.e. via DigiLocker App, Umang App and through Telephone IVRS System.

Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced the declaration date for CBSE 10th Results 2020 much in advance and ensured that students are not in for a surprise again. However, as the time of the result is still not announced, it is important for students to still be vigilant as CBSE may declare the Class 10 Results at any time.

As the CBSE Board Results 2020 are being calculated on the basis of an alternative assessment scheme announced by the CBSE; the board has decided not to announce any toppers list or merit list for Class 12 students.

West Bengal Board announces Madhyamik Results 2020; check details

Amidst Corona crisis, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has declared Madhyamik Results 2020 for Class 10 students. Students can now check their Madhyamik Results 2020 online by logging onto wbresults.nic.in and wbbse.org website.

The WB 10th Result 2020 for Madhyamik Students has been declared in a virtual press conference held from Nivedita Bhawan Office of the Board.

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education held the WBBSE Class 10 exams 2020 18th February to 27th February.

Around 10.15 lac students have appeared for the Class 10 Board Exams and are expecting their results today. Of the total number of students, 5,76,009 students are female and 4,39,879 male students.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan issues new admission guidelines

In the light of Corona crisis, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has released the revised guidelines for the Admissions to Kendriya Vidyalaya for the 2020 academic year. According to the guidelines issued by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, 27 percent of seats will be reserved for the OBC category students.

The admission guidelines are available on the official website of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan – kvsangathan.nic.in.

The admissions for the students to classes 1 will be done through online draw of lots and the admissions to the students from classes 2 to 8 will be done based on priority. In case the number of seats is less than the number of applicants, a lottery system will be followed.

With regard to the admissions to the students from class 9, the admissions will be given based on the entrance examinations while the admission to the students of class 11 will be provided based on the class 10 marks secured.

The guidelines also state that the preference in admissions will be given to the children of serving employees, grandchildren of serving employees, and the children and grandchildren of retired employees.

HRD Ministry issues new guidelines for digital education

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has set of new guidelines on digital education. The ministry recommends limiting screen time to 30 minutes every alternate day for pre-primary children. It recommends a maximum of four sessions of 30-45 minutes each per day for the oldest students in Classes 9 to 12.

The 20-page guidebook titled Pragyata (Plan, Review, Arrange, Guide, Yak(talk), Assign, Track, Appreciate) on digital education for schools, states, parents and students is based on a discussion held on June 8 and the guidelines have been framed by the ministry’s Department of School Education and Literacy.

Taking the twitter, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said the Pragyata document consists of “Guidelines on#DigitalEducation for school heads, teachers, parents, and students containing recommended screen time for children, tips on coping with mental/physical stress during#DigitalLearning and more.” “Curate, develop and use digital resources and tools including open and free resources,” the document advises the states. It also recommends adopting the alternative academic calendar developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, or NCERT. It also tells states to run “educational content through state-specific tv, radio and other means of communication”.

UGC: Exams mandatory for university students

The University Grants Commission (UGC) said it has given the universities ample of time and options to conduct the university exams, the cancellations of exams will not be in the best interest of the students. The UGC said that conducting the exams will be in the long term interest of the students.

The UGC stated that due to the pandemic even the best universities across the world are conducting the examinations in the online mode and not awarding any certificates without conducting any assessment.

The UGC had earlier released a set of guidelines for the universities in April 2020 which were revised in July 2020 for the exams to be conducted from July to September 2020. The UGC has however directed all the higher education institutions to conduct the semester and term exams either in the offline or online mode or in a combination of both.

According to the guidelines issued by the UGC, the first and second-year students have been exempted from the exams and instead will be assessed based on the previous semester examinations and internal assessments.

State that the UGC expert committee has issued inclusive guidelines, UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain has clarified that the examinations must be conducted and the UGC issued broader guidelines and decisions for conducting the exams have to be taken up by the universities.

HRD Minister: CBSE to declare Class 10th Results on July 15

After long and anxious wait for students, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare Class 10 Result 2020 on July 15, 2020. Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has tweeted that the CBSE 10th Result 2020 would be announced on July 15. The results time of the result declaration has not been shared by the minister as yet.

Taking social media, the minister posted the message for the students who are anxiously waiting for their class 10 results. He clarified that the results would be released tomorrow.

After CBSE’s surprise announcement of Class 12th result 2020 on 13th July, anxious parents and students were waiting for the results to be released anytime.
