IFC partners Nigerian ICT firm to improve education

    Nigeria based firm has partnered with the World Bank's IFC to deploy ICT skills to improve higher education on the continent.

    International Finance Corporation (IFC) has already partnered with Socketworks Global in June 2002. IFC is working with several financial companies to support small companies and institutes. Uganda's Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is working with Socketworks to roll out its US$1.5 million ICT system. Students and employees at MUBS are taking the advantages of the portal through which several university activities can done online with the customised integrated management information system portal application. The project is based on the Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) model and it is expected to be installed in other universities also.
