Intel: Four keys needed to make Malaysia a digital nation

Intel Corporation suggested that the Malaysian Government needs to address the four key areas of connectivity, accessibility, education and content to become a digital nation.

Prasad L. Rampalli, Vice President and general manager of Intel said that the government needs to make connectivity and accessibility affordable and easily available to drive higher PC penetration, in the goals of its Ninth Malaysia Plan. WiMax spectrum will help to push high penetration PC and broadband. The Government also needs to expand the e-Government initiative and continue with its efforts to bridge the digital divide by increasing the number of telecentres across the country. Intel has many initiatives with the Malaysian Government and one of them is the 1:1 eLearning on Classmate PC with the Education Ministry to set up a 1:1 learning environment.
