National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is empowering the elementary education system in Afghanistan by providing a 40-day long training-cum workshop programme for academicians.
The ongoing training programme applies a multi-method approach that includes lectures, group-discussion and group-work. The 40-member Afghani delegation is head by Seddiq Weera, a senior policy advisor in Afghanistan's Ministry of Education, who comprises teacher educators and academics and also involved in school and teacher education. District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and schools in Delhi as well as two Regional Institutes of Education (RIE) in Ajmer and Mysore will help them in giving field level experience.
