Domus Academy and NABA are extending international scholarships to graduate and post-graduate design students from around the world and are inviting Indian designers and students to submit applications. NABA is offering five scholarships worth US$ 60,000 exclusively for talented Indian students to pursue undergraduate studies in art and design starting October 2012. The Milan-based institutes offer courses across various areas of art and design including visual arts, graphic, fashion, business, accessories, interior, architectural, car, multi-media, interaction, film and new media, and photography.
The international scholarship competition will grant 33 winners the opportunity to follow post-graduate studies in Domus Academy beginning September 2012. The scholarships are worth over Rupees Two Crore (US $400,000). Indians who are interested in submitting applications for the scholarships must fulfill, among others, the admissions requirements for each university.
Marc Ledermann, CEO for Domus Academy and NABA, currently traveling on behalf of the institutions in India said, “We are committed to offering Indian students the best international design education and are looking forward to have them participate in this competition. We want them to come to Italy and enrich the student experience in our campuses and bring back their knowledge and expertise to India and be able to anticipate the needs and trends of a society that is culturally, economically, and socially evolving.”
Graduates from NABA and Domus Academy are currently working with some of the most influential brands and design studios in the world. For example, Domus Academy alumni Siddharth Rane of Bagalore is a creative designer at General Motors, and Pratik Chaudhri of New Delhi is the creative director strategy and design at Ergo Agency, a branding and design agency.
Domus Academy and NABA are based in Milan, the second largest city in Italy and home of prominent names and brands from the fashion and design industry, including Armani, Prada, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace,. Design giants like Cappellini, Alessi, Kartell, Artemide, Luceplan, and Driade are based in the Milano area.
Domus Academy is launching two new Master programs in September 2012: Marketing of Luxury Goods and Visual Brand Design. “We aim to provide hands-on knowledge and training to our students. Taking advantage of being at the heart of the design industry in Milan we make sure that our students stay abreast of current trends and news in the global design world. The new courses demonstrate our commitment to creating exciting career opportunities for students in the fields of design,” added Ledermann.
