NTPC Limited has recently signed MoU with IIT Delhi. The Maharatna Company aims to encourage its employees to acquire higher qualification; develop research skills and accomplish scientific studies for the development in energy sector.
The MoU was signed by Shri S P Singh, Director (HR), NTPC and Prof R K Shevgaonkar, Director, IIT Delhi in presence of Shri D K Agrawal, ED (NETRA), NTPC and other senior officials of both the organisations. With this, NTPC plans to give prestigious M Tech program in selected domains to two more batches of 10 Engineers each.
Power Management Institute, the apex learning centre of NTPC has been playing a pivotal role in successful conduct of M Tech course at IIT Delhi. Since its launch in 1998, 255 NTPC engineers have already been awarded M Tech from IITD through this initiative. This is one of the initiatives of the HR policy of NTPC towards the organisational competence building and has been instrumental in building a talent pipeline for the organisation.
NTPC is the largest power utility of the country having total installed capacity of 39174 MW, with 16 coal-based, seven gas-based power stations and seven joint venture/subsidiary power projects across India. NTPC is currently working on over 14000 MW new capacity and plans to become 128,000 MW plus company by 2032.
