Punjab Engineering College Campus To Be Vehicle-Free

The process, to be completed in three phases, will begin from January 14 next year

Chandigarh: Punjab Engineering College (PEC) has decided to make the campus vehicle-free.

The decision was taken in a meeting attended by officials of the college.

The decision will be implemented in three phases, with phase one starting on January 14 next year.

In this phase, a few zones will be made vehicle-free and temporary parking areas will be provided between 7 AM and 5.30 PM.

The vehicle-free zone will include the road from PEC market covering Verka Block, metallurgical parking, student cafe to the Sehaj Safai Kendra and the road in front of the auditorium.

Parking areas will also be restricted to prevent chaos. Students will be required to park their two-wheelers in the area parallel to the outer boundary wall inside the institute football ground.
