CBSE allows Class 9th and 11th students to retake exams

CBSE retake exams

In a major relief to students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all schools to allow students to take retests, who have failed in Class 9 and Class 11.

The board said schools have been given the option of conducting online, offline, based on which students can be promoted to the next level. All CBSE-affiliated schools will provide the opportunity to all the failed students of class 9 and 11 to appear in the school-based test.

Union HRD minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ wrote on Twitter: “All CBSE schools are being directed to provide an opportunity to all those children who have failed in 9th and 11th to take the test in online/offline/innovative way.”

CBSE has issued a notice to all its affiliated schools and has asked them to inform the students prior to holding the test. This is one-time opportunity is being extended only in the current year in view of the unprecedented conditions of COVID-19.
