According to report new dates for Civil Service Prelims exams to be announced on May 20, 2020. Earlier, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had decided to postpone the civil services exams until further notice due to extension of lockdown till May 17 across the country.
In a notification, the commission stated that the situation will be reviewed again on May 20, 2020, and fresh dates for these examinations shall be notified.
The new dates of Civil Service Prelims exams will be published on UPSC website.
Therefore, the new exams date for Civil Service Prelims exam to be out in the coming week. The Civil Service Preliminary examination, 2020, was scheduled for May 31, 2020 but postponed due to lockdown.
Over 10 lakh candidates register for the Civil Services preliminary exam every year. The Union Public Service Commission selects candidates for Civil Services through a preliminary exam and the main exam. While the preliminary exam is a written test, the main exam comprises a written test and an interview round.
