Punjabi University postpones exams

In a major development, Punjabi University Patiala has postponed the exams due to Punjab Bandh announced. The revised date sheet for the exam has been released on the official website informing about the exam that would be conducted on October 14, 2020.

As per the Controller of Exams, Punjabi University, Professor JIS Khattar, “the exam have been postponed as the students, principles of various colleges, and the representatives of private Colleges Associations brought to the notice about the Punjab Bandh. So the students and staff who are to appear for the exams would find it difficult to conduct these exams.”

The varsity has over 70,000 final year students in the campus, in affiliated colleges, constituent colleges etc. The possibility of conducting offline examinations at its centres had been ruled out earlier. Prof JIS Khattar, Controller Examinations, on September 9, 2020, released a notice stating that the theory exam would be conducted through online-offline blended mode. The students would be given two hours to answer 50 per cent of the questions on the paper.

All those students appearing would download the exam paper that would be provided through department heads. They would write answers on A-4 size sheets and upload them back on the website or do as directed. The students would be required to answer 50 per cent of the question paper.
