Karnataka SSLC and PUC Exams 2021 postponed

Providing a huge relief to students, Karnataka State Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has confirmed that the Karnataka SSLC Exam 2021 for Class 10 and Karnataka PUC Exam 2021 for Class 12 students have been postponed. The exams will not be held in March.

The decision to postpone SSLC and PUC Exams in the state has been taken by the exam authority keeping in mind the pandemic because of which schools have been closed and education is being imparted online.

In line with this, the Education Department is working on reopening schools soon so that classroom training can begin for the students before holding of the board exams. In line with this, the state government has permitted reopening of schools for Class 6 and above students starting from 1st January 2021 onwards.

Confirming this, the State Education Minister S Suresh Kumar on Thursday issued a statement saying that ““The Department of Education is making all the preparations for the reopening of schools and colleges ensuring that process is safe and sound. The SSLC and PUC exams will not take place in March 2021 due to the shortage of time.”

In order to evolve consensus over the dates when the SSLC and PUC Exams can be held in the state, the Education Department has been asked to consult all then stakeholders. Currently, the Education Department officials are holding consultative talks with school and teachers’ associations.
