CBSE Announces Dates for Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations Starting February 15/2025

CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the complete datesheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2024-25. As per the schedule, the exams will begin on February 15, 2025. The Class 10 exams are set to finish on March 18, 2025, while the Class 12 exams will conclude on April 4, 2025.

In a significant departure from previous years, the board has released the datesheet 86 days in advance, providing students and schools with additional time to plan their preparations. Generally, CBSE announces the exam schedule by late November or early December, but this year the datesheet has been made available earlier than usual, offering more clarity and preparation time.

Practical Exams and Internal Assessments

CBSE has also announced the schedule for practical exams and internal assessments for board exam candidates:

  • Regular CBSE Schools: Practical exams and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2025.
  • Winter-bound CBSE Schools: Practical exams will be conducted earlier, between November 5 and December 5, 2024.

These exams play a critical role in the overall assessment, contributing significantly to students’ final results.

This year, over 40 lakh students from more than 8,000 CBSE-affiliated schools across the country are expected to appear for the board exams.

Education experts have welcomed the early release of the datesheet, noting that it allows students to plan their study schedules more effectively. This move is particularly beneficial for teachers and schools, enabling them to better organise revision sessions and provide targeted support to students.

Examination Timings and Guidelines

The board exams will begin at 10:30 AM, and students will be given a 15-minute reading period before they start writing the paper. Admit cards, which are mandatory for entry to the examination hall, will be issued closer to the exam date.

CBSE has reminded students to follow all prescribed guidelines, including bringing only permitted stationery and reporting to centers on time.

The full datesheet can be accessed on CBSE’s official website, cbse.gov.in. Students and schools are advised to download it and stay updated on any further announcements or changes.
