Following the CBSE and state boards, the Manipur government cancelled class 10 and 12 board examinations in state-run institutions on June 16 due to a COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. The Council of Higher Education Manipur (COHSEM), which administers the class 10 board exams, and the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) made the announcements independently.
“It is therefore notified… that the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2021 is cancelled,” the BOSEM stated in a statement, citing the unpredictable conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and feedback from numerous stakeholders.
“The method of awarding marks and diplomas to pupils shall be done with the government’s prior
approval,” it stated.
