CEE-Kerala releases KEAM admit card for aspirants

Amidst Corona crisis, Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical (KEAM) 2020 admit card has been released. Students who have registered for the KEAM exam 2020 can download their admit card online at cee.kerala.gov.in.

The exam will be held keeping all the safety precautions for students.

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala (CEE-Kerala) conducts the KEAM exam every year for admission to engineering, architecture and allied professional medical courses in colleges of Kerala. This year the KEAM 2020 exam will be held on July 16.

Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted on April 20 and 21 and the admit card was scheduled to be released on April 10. However, it got delayed due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Meghalaya Board declares MBOSE Class 12 Result 2020

After much speculation, Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education has declared the MBOSE HSSLC result 2020. Meghalaya HSSLC Result 2020 for Arts, Science, Vocational streams is available on the official website of Meghalaya Board. Students can check their results at the official websites, mbose.in, results.mbose.in, and megresults.nic.in.

A total of 30,697 students had registered for the Meghalaya Board HSSLC exams.

Meghalaya Board plus two exams were concluded in June, however, some of the exams were deferred due to lockdown. The pending papers on mathematics, physical education, statistics were conducted from June 8 to 10, 2020. The combined results for all these exams is being declared now.

With all the educational institutions closed, the ed-tech firms are going gaga over providing content to students. Park Media Private Limited announced that it would be coming up with video conferencing and web streaming platform for educators named Lauk Classroom.

Lauk Classroom is a part of 3 different solutions that Park Media Private Limited is offering. The other two are ‘Lauk’ a general video conferencing platform and ‘Lauk Studio’ for live streaming, webinars, and other services.

Anuranjan Jha, senior Journalist turned entrepreneur and founder of Park Media Private Limited said, “the Lauk platform is an Indian alternative for educators looking for platforms for e-education. He added that the homegrown video conferencing app will serve individual teachers to large organisations.

IIM Calcutta shifts to digital mode for next academic term

Following other top institutions across the globe, IIM Calcutta has announced that its upcoming academic term will operate in online mode. Starting August 2020, new as well as returning students of the flagship MBA program will attend classes digitally from the safety of their homes.

IIM Calcutta also announced that the online classes will be conducted by IIM faculty using iPearl.ai, a digital learning platform offered by TalentSprint, and students will attend the entire term in a direct-to-device mode.

Rajasthan Board declares RBSE 12th Science Results 2020

Finally, ending the long and anxious wait, the Rajasthan Board has formally announced RBSE 12th Science Results 2020. The result has been released on the official website- rajresults.nic.in and rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in. Students can check the RBSE Science result Class 12 by entering their roll number. Over 2.5 lakhs students appeared in the Rajasthan board examination for 12th Science stream.

Last year, RBSE Science result for 12th was released on May 15, 2020, but this year, BSER 12th result 2020 got delayed due to the lockdown in the country.

Keeping up their winning streak from last year, Girls have again outperformed Boys in the Rajasthan Board 12th Result 2020. As per the details available right now, The pass percentage of girls is 94.90% while that of boys is 90.61%.

Jharkhand board declares JAC Class 10th Results 2020

Amidst Corona crisis, Jharkhand Academic Council declared the Class 10th board exams Results 2020. The students can check their results on the official website – jac.nic.in.

Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto declared the class 10th results 2020. A total of 2.88 lakh students cleared the secondary exam successfully out of 3.85 lakh students appeared.

A total of 75 pc of students cleared the class 10th exams 2020. This year, the pass percentage of boys is 74.25 while girls’ pass per cent is 75.88.

Students who fail to clear the exams or are unsatisfied with the marks can appear for Jharkhand Board compartmental exam. The JAC conducted the exams from February 11th to February 28th, 2020. The results for Jharkhand class 10th board exams are scheduled to be declared in May this year, however, the outbreak of coronavirus and the lockdown imposed delayed the results.

HRD Minister conducts review meeting over DU admissions and CBSE results

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal conducted a review meeting with the ministry officials and Delhi University to discuss a ‘Synchronized Calendar’ for DU Admissions and CBSE board exam results.

The CBSE is also expected to declare the class 10 and 12 board examination results by July 15, 2020. Delhi University had earlier on extended the deadline for students to submit the applications for the undergraduate postgraduate and Ph.D. application forms.

Earlier, the CBSE was set to conduct the remaining examinations for the students but based on a SC hearing decided to declare the results based on a new assessment scheme. The board was scheduled to conduct the examinations for the class 10 and 12 students in July but was faced with an opposition that filed a petition stating that the situation was not safe enough for the board to conduct the exams.

Delhi University with respect to the CBSE students takes the results from the board for an easier application process for the students applying to the undergraduate courses from the board. The Delhi University applications are available on the official website of the university.

The announcement regarding the ‘Synchronized Calendar’ for the Delhi University and CBSE Examinations results was made through the official twitter handle of the minister in which he also assured that the ministry is committed towards the health and quality of the students.

 

Delhi govt asks schools to include guest and contractual teachers during online classes

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education minister Manish Sisodia has instructed the schools in the state to involve the guest and contractual teachers during online classes. Sisodia mentioned that it has been brought to the notice of the department that in spite of the very clear instructions many of the schools are not involving the guest and contractual teachers in the new teaching-learning plan.

The minister urged the heads of the schools to call all the guests and contract teachers who have rendered the service before the summer vacation in May 2020.

The government announced the teaching-learning initiative on July 2, due to the closure of schools in Delhi until July 31. The Directorate of Education (DoE) devised an alternate plan to reduce the academic loss of the students from KG to class 12 in all the government and aided schools in Delhi.

The education minister stated that the plan will not be effective unless the teachers who have a direct role in conducting classes with the children in the pre-lockdown phase are not involved in the process.

He further added that the new plan is not just about sending some worksheets or conducting online classes but an effort to stay connected with every child through regular follows up.

The Deputy Chief Minister while congratulating the teachers and the parents on the successful launch of the remote teaching-learning initiative also said that during the pandemic a huge number of students parents who have shown great interest in online learning.

Rajasthan govt asks private schools not to collect fees until re-opening

In the light of Coronavirus outbreak, the Rajasthan state Government has asked the private schools not to collect an advance fees from the students until they re-open. Earlier, the state government had stopped the schools in the state from taking an advance fee for three.

Rajasthan School Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara said that the private schools in state have been directed not to take fees from the students until June 30, 2020. This order has now been extended until the schools re-open.

Schools and colleges in the country have been struggling since March 2020 given the lockdown imposed. The schools and colleges stopped functioning since mid-March due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.

With the lockdown continuing, many of the state governments ordered its private schools to stop collecting the fee from the students keeping in mind the pandemic situation and financial losses incurred by the parents due to the same.

Schools were asked to provide a buffer period for collecting the school fee while some states also asked the schools not to collect the fee until the situation comes back to normal.

This was done considering that schools fee will be considered as an additional burden for the parents who are already suffering losses due to the lack of running businesses during the pandemic.

CBSE cuts 30 pc syllabus for Class 9th to 12th

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cut down the syllabus for Classes between 9 and 12 by up to 30 percent, HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said.

Nishank said this decision has been taken after discussions with students, teachers, CBSE board and other stakeholders.

“Considering the importance of learning achievement, it has been decided to rationalise syllabus up to 30 percent by retaining the core concepts,” he said.

Taking to his twitter handle, Pokhriyal shared that the focus was to rationalize the syllabus and also the retention of core concepts. He states, “Looking at the extraordinary situation prevailing in the country and the world, #CBSE was advised to revise the curriculum and reduce course load for the students of Class 9th to 12th.”

Central Board of Secondary Education has released the Revised Curriculum for the Classes 9 to 12.

Students and parents as well as teachers can check the revised curriculum for 2021 Classes 9 to 12 on cbseacademic.nic.in. The chapters have not been removed but few portions of the chapters have been deducted.
