The Government of Gujarat State and Intel Technology India Private Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to roll out the Intel World Ahead programme in the state of Gujarat in a phased manner. The Intel World Ahead Program is Intel's initiative towards bridging the digital divide by providing citisens access to technology, improving connectivity, improving education through the use of technology and creating local language content for consumption of citizens. The MOU, signed by R. Sivakumar, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, Intel South Asia, and the Government of Gujarat, establishes a collaborative relationship in initiatives in education, remote health care, Broadband and employability.
As a part of the proposed initiatives, Intel shall scale existing World Ahead initiatives and introduce new initiatives in the State of Gujarat to enable classroom teachers effectively integrate technology for enhancing student learning for preparing children for 21st century learning skills; enabling Model schools for ICT integration; entrepreneurship for youth in the state; advising the Government for the success of Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana through ICT based initiatives in education, connectivity and health; connecting the unconnected for last mile connectivity for access to internet through broadband technologies to deliver education and health services in tribal areas. The World Ahead Program from Intel aims to enhance lives by accelerating access to uncompromised technology for everyone, anywhere in the world. Focused on people in the world's developing communities, it integrates and extends Intel's efforts to advance progress in four areas, namely: accessibility, connectivity, content and education.
