Resource centre for students by Chennai corporation

It has been planned by the Chennai corporation that it is to set up a resource centre, on the lines of a science museum, with support from non-government organisations. The move has been taken to help students of Chennai schools to understand concepts and theories of science and mathematics in a better way.

A memorandum has been signed by Chennai's Mayor M Subramanian with Association for India's Development (AID) and Cognizant Foundation at Ripon Building, Chennai. The latter will fund INR 15 lakh for the programme. It is reported that AID will manage operations for three years, which is to include regular running of the centre and organising events. Furthermore, it is to train the resource persons to run the centre.
