The Jammu and Kashmir government aims to train 40 lakh youth in vocational modular and diploma courses in the next 10 years under the Skill Development Mission.
“A Skill Development Mission is being implemented in the state with a target to train 40 lakh youth in vocational education and diploma courses by 2022,” Technical Education Minister R S Chib said.
As part of the Mission, the state has set a target to train 20 lakh youth during the 12th five year plan, he said while laying the foundation of a polytechnic college in Reasi district yesterday.
Chib said 16 polytechnic colleges sanctioned under Skill Development Mission in Jammu and Kashmir would become operational this year.
