After making the admission process entirely online, Delhi University is set to introduce its own mobile app to provide ease during the upcoming admission. Students can use this mobile app to buy the application form and later submit them. In addition, applicants can even search for admission related information and can even post questions.
With the supervision in admission process, colleges will publish the names of students that they have admitted in each list along with the courses they were admitted to. Neerav Malay, joint dean, Students’ Welfare, stated that flying squads or committees of teachers have been appointed who will be responsible for surveillance of every college in the university to avoid mistakes that happened last year. Malay added that ‘Admissions Assistance and Monitoring Committee’ will make sure that no information is withheld. Last year, there were complaints by students that several colleges closed the gates early and did not admit students who had made the cut-offs.
Gurupreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean, Students’ Welfare, has developed this app, ‘DU UG Admission 2014-15’, and is available only on android phone. The app will remain active throughout the admission process.
