The second edition of CII- GES (Global Exhibition on Services) was held recently in Greater Noida, featuring more than 700 exhibitors from 60 countries and 18 Indian states. This event covered over 40,000 square feet area and included 3000 B2B meetings. Centum Learning, a leading organization in global skill development and vocational training also participated at this event, representing India in the ‘Skilling’ service sector. The event was inaugurated by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
During the event, the importance of skilling in Indian context was highlighted. Sanjeev Duggal, CEO & MD, Centum Learning enlightened how India is taking massive strides towards realizing its goal to skill millions of people. India is amongst the youngest superpowers in the world where the working age population is far in excess of that, dependent on them. If pursued in the right direction, this will contribute immensely to the development of national economy. Therefore, there is a need to enhance and continuously upgrade the population skills of the youth in the country.
His session was followed by representatives from Australia, Germany, Canada, France, Switzerland and UK, along with company representative of IKEA and Hettich who presented case studies from their respective countries.
The event was organized by the Government of India and Ministry of Commerce and Industry in association with Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). It offered a global platform for increasing trade in services, enhancing strategic cooperation and strengthening multilateral relationships between different stakeholders to interact with and explore new business avenues.
